LOLThat is my cue to down a couple ice cold Hefeweizens...then grab a third with a small squeeze of lime for extra brightness to sip... not much into hoppy beer... hauled a few loads of hops to warehouses in Yakima... the smell there strengthened my dislike...I do like an Ale here and there...Hard cider is a thing here in the Apple Capital of the world.. among my best efforts(imo) was mixing Pink Lady or Newtown Pippin with Ginger Gold apples...had a friend that made a great pumpkin ale...with butternut squash.. it just seems to fit in with the cooler/cold weather that is here in late October on... aggressive with the spices(it takes over the hops job taste wise) so can go light on hops) a touch of cinnamon/allspice, heavier on the ginger and nutmeg...he did not tell which yeast but did say there was a bit of vanilla also ... added a couple days before final kegging...

i am tasting similar traits in Texas bourbons from Garrison Brothers and Balcones.Having done the tour at Garrison Brothers Distillery I now taste their bourbon in that from Balcones. It may have something to do with the warm climate in the way the bourbon ages in barrels. However, I do not notice the same overtones in the bourbons from Rebecca Creek, whose distillery is in the same region...
So, my Texan son-in-law is so taken back by the Baby Blur Bourbon from his own back yard (more or less....)He has sent some to his bourbon-drinking friends and they are blown away !!Thanks, Lizzie !!
