Arlington Sportmans Club - July 26 Field Target "Fun" match

The Arlington Sportsman Club will be holding a “Fun” Field Target match next Saturday, July 28. The plan is to have this fun match and work out any kinks, bugs, issues, etc. before we start holding regular matches on the fourth Saturday of every month.
The match will be Free and shot on the 3D Archery range. The expected course is 10 lanes with three targets per lane. The match will start at 10:00 AM.
We laid out the basic course yesterday placing blocks to set the targets on. Depending on the size of the kill zones on the specific targets, the Troyer rating will be somewhere between 18 and 72 (72 is probably a bit on the extreme).
We will be at the range by 8:00 to set up. There will be a sight in lane, so feel free to come early, confirm your settings, and look over the course (or, help set up).
In payment for helpful comments on improving the course, we will feed you a deluxe hot dog lunch. Please let me know if you are planning to attend so we can make sure we have your hot dog reserved.
The Arlington Sportsman Club is located on the southern side of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area at 11500 County Road 525, Mansfield, TX 76063. The 3D archery range is just inside the gate on the left.

I am going to out of town with the wife and daughter this weekend. I really want to come and try out my new rifle. I have your August match on my calendar. I have 3 matches scheduled for August. I am anxious to check out your range at ACS. I am betting you will have a good turn out.

So how was it? Been thinking of you guys today hoping it went well. Having a practice match before you first real match is a good idea. I basically did the same thing. Problem was I expected 15 people best case and wound up with 30. I had a little of the deer in the headlights going on in my head with all the people. It really helped me when the second match came around. You are an experienced match director though so I am sure you are well ahead of the curve.

THANK YOU to everyone who was able to out to our "Fun" match. Overall, the match went smoothly with only three cold lines due primarily to broken/unclipped/untied strings.
Match results were as follows
OPEN - PCP
Paul Bracaglia 55
Joe Atwood (Shot most of match standing) 52
Open - Piston
Sam Corlett (Shot entire match standing) 36
Hunter - PCP
Jerry Cupples 55
Ron Robinson (shot standing & Kneeling) 53
Joe Peacock 53
Buddy Holland 52
Byron Wells 47
Crista Walker 46
Paul Walker 45
Hunter- Piston
Jeff Cloud 56
Christopher Simmons 43
Fun (1 for face plate, 2 for knockdown)
Nicho Jesel 52
Steven Jesel 47
Yuma Jesel 25
Mia Jesel 8
The Jesel's were shooting a Ruger Air Rifle in 22 with open sights.
There were no reducers in any of the targets leading to the high percentage on the near targets. For the August match, we are aiming to step up the difficulty a bit with some reducers in the the near and mid targets.
The next match is scheduled for August 23, 2014.
Once again, thanks to all who were able to come. If you were unable to make, please come in August.

Wow! Sam Corlett! I met Sam back when I shot silhouette at Haltom City. He probably doesn't remember me but I remember what a great ambassador to the sport he was not to mention being a great shot. I am glad he made it though I am concerned if he gets into FT he may win all the matches! That's ok. I am getting used to being second.
