Not only the 1st Starling of the year but ever.
As others have said I've seen these nasty birds for years, especially when I lived in Kennewick WA, and always strongly disliked them.
I finally got one and it was a very good shot if I do say so myself.
I saw it sitting on the split rail fence running along my back property line so I grabbed the Stormrider and tried to chamber a pellet but the "dang" magazine jammed (again) so I switched to the Liberty.
I grabbed 2 Barracuda Hunter Extremes, chambered one, set the power level on low and lined up the shot. Fortunately this bird was enjoying the very nice sunny day and stayed in place long enough for me to take the gun off safe and release the pellet.
I saw the bird jump up a few inches and then fall to the ground a foot or so into the neighbor's yard, fortunately I was able to easily retrieve and examine it for entry and exit wounds.
The attached picture shows the entry and I found no exit wound, yeah I'm really liking these BHEs, they hit hard and tend to stop in the target.
I've chronographed the Liberty on low power with them and it averaged ~650fps so it's almost perfect for backyard duty.
The range was between 25 and 30yrds.
So, one less obnoxious Starling to chase the Robins and Chickadees out of my yard.

Good Shot Ken. That's a small target for 25 to 35 yards.

Well done! I might have shot a starling seven or eight years ago, but this spring I've nailed about five or six of them out of the same tree--they've been bugging some woodpeckers that have been making some homes up there.
