Hey guys, No luck. Searched all day. Thanks to my friends for their help. Great friends for sure. We determined we were at the area where the crows were going crazy (drone helped) and it happened to be an open area. There was nothing to be found. A few times over the years the crows would circle like that and a fox would emerge from the tree line. Not sure about this time. Saw a few rabbits along the way. Thanks for your replies and I will post if if there is anything new to report.
Yep, good on you for putting the effort in to check it out. With missed brain shots most likely it's not a fatal wound,...betcha that coyote will remember and not come back, and if it does you'll get a second chance
Nothing like walking the river bottoms at dusk dark and look back 100 yards or so and see several of them following you.David

A couple shooters set up in blinds while another plays bait to draw yotes in.
