This is a head shot I took last night testing my Xisco Sentry, it would be a little high if it was a straight on shot , but from an elevated stand its DRT Ammo was .22 CPHP at 980 FPS . Notice the stuffing blown out the back and the side from the ear to the eye P.S. Anyone know a reasonable taxidermist, I am thinking about having it stuffed
I got a question for you Manny. What’s the lightest FPE and pellet weight you’re comfortable recommending for .22 caliber for a brain shot within 30 yards on a normal sized adult hog? Presuming the shooter is competent and well researched and practiced and only taking a good shot. I have a Hatsan Bullboss in .22 on the way. I don’t intend for it to be a hog gun. But I’m wondering if I could reasonably take a shot with it on a hog as a target of opportunity without maxing out the FPE.
Nice porker Donny,Yep .22 can be very, very effective if you use the right pellets and have enough power,....the only ever porker that I had a cranial pass through was with 28gr EunJin .22 out of a Rainstorm. Here's a thread of that hunt:https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=86777.0
