I Got introduced to air guns around 1968.
My first purchase was about 1972…. Benji 342
I have since found a gun of my youth... If not better than my old Benji.
Why not post of your past you own today?

Roughly 1980 something with a break barrel Diana given to me by my late uncle. Always keeping him in my memories when I shoot. Wish he was around to see what Airguns have become he was big into Airguns especially multi pump Benjamin’s . I have an R7 sort of dedicated to the original break barrel that started it all many years ago.

The first airgun I ever shot was my grandfather’s Daisy model 25. Mike Bakers still got a few for sale but I was never that nostalgic about the mod 25. My grandfather did give me my first airgun. A Crosman model 1400. That gun is long gone but after I joined this forum I realized that replacing it was definitely doable.
Thanks to members here I now own three Crosman model 1400’s including a pristine 3rd model just like my original.

I got my first air gun (Daisy)on my 3rd birthday in 1957. My grandfather gave it to me. I had to put the barrel on the ground to cock it. It only took one lesson of not closing the cocking lever to never do it again. I bought my first air gun at the age of 5 with $5 I got for my 5th birthday. I could buy a pack of BB's for .05 cents, which was only 3 coke bottles (.02 cent deposit) picked up on the side of the road on the walk to the corner store. My cousins and I put a hurting on the local HOSP population.

Just been a gun nut since birth, squirt, cork rubber bb before airsoft. By 9 I got the Sears Golden Boy for my birthday, and my 10th Christmas was a 1972 760. Down that Rabbit Hole ever since.

I would guess 1990 or so was when I truly had any interest in bb guns for collecting.
I was real young when I got my first bb gun, I don't even remember when that was, as I always had one.
But when I was about 13 or 14 in the early 90's I bought a Crosman 101, and with that 1924 patent date on that gun...I was positive I had just bought one of the oldest airguns there ever was!
I've learned since then... that was not case and the disappointment was probably obvious too.
I still have that 101, and that single purchase has cost me money ever since.

That would be on the 25th of December, 1967. My brother got his first bb-gun for Christmas and shared it some. It was a Crosman 760. We'd had pop-guns before that and found that they would shoot mud as well as corks, just not as far...
Fast forward to '73 and I had my first pellet gun. A Crosman 180 traded from a friend. It's been downhill ever since.
Ride on,
J~

Ha, a year later for me! Santa brought a Benjamin 347 in '68. LOVED that thing, literally wore the rifling out of it I shot it so much as a teenager. Still have it and it still shoots fine, only one rebuild in all these years.
My first BB gun was a Crosman M1 Carbine, wood stock one no less, I had for a couple years before that. The Benjy was a huge advance though!
After college, marriage, first offspring, etc., things were kinda quiet for a few years, until finding my first Beeman catalog about '84. Steady descent into pneumatic perdition since then...

It was 1968. Got the little boy's, bottom of the line Daisy. Didn't take long to shoot a hole in a big sliding glass door. Surprised Dad let me keep the gun. A couple of 1894s, a 760 and a Blue Streak later I finally bought an "adult air rife", an HW35 in 1978 followed by magnum-mania and a .20 R1 in 1987.
Then came the internet and air gun classifieds. Kept reading MDriskill's posts about HW55s which got me all turned around and spending a lot of money on classic 10m guns.
Thanks buddy!!!!

In the early 70's Mom & Dad allowed me to get a SW78G. I shot it for several years through high school. It eventually leaked and got put back in the box until April of 2019 when I was inspired to try to repair it. $6 spent on the big "E" auction site was life changing. The 45 yo original valve held gas for a few hundred pellets.
My work schedule really limits the time that I can shoot powder burners anymore, so I get to shoot in the garage. I really appreciate the GTA forum folks who run the shooting match gates (and all of the others).

Got my first BB gun a Daisy 98 on my 4th birthday 1959 confiscated for a week the next day. From there went through a Crossman 760 about the same time my buddy found a Benjamin 312. I soon found a 342 and lived happily there after.

Early '60s.. not sure exactly. It was the wood and metal Daisy Model 25 pump.
I recently bought a brand new one from the new daisy line.

My first was a Daisy 1894 around 1960. I shot thousands of BB's through that gun until it fell apart. Yes, I got in trouble with it on a couple of occasions but it helped teach me to be responsible with guns. I patched it up, painted it silver, and stowed it away in a closet. Many years later I discovered that my mom had held on to that BB gun, and several other childhood items for me. I still have it and have rebuilt it to its' former glory.
More recently I became interested in pellet rifles when a close friend asked me to repair a Benji 310. Same friend introduced me to Sheridans and the rest is history.

Back in '68 also...my younger bro (3 years younger) and I were given a lever pump air rifle (Only one pump) to share. I remember it was steel and had a plastic stock...It wasn't meant to be accurate as the muzzle was the size of a nickel ha ha. It did have a hole at the side to load bb's one by one. And the kit came with a wind up hollow metal duck....with one metal wheel a bit bigger than a silver dollar at the bottom, to make the duck roll. If you tilt the duck a bit...the duck would circle around. We ended up plugging the muzzle with corks...and shot the duck that way....fun and innocent times.

1961, Santy Claus brought me a Daisy 107. I was in second grade. Couple years or so later, got a Crosman V350. Later still, used my brothers' 1400 way more than he did. Pretty much "outgrew" air guns when I got my first rimfire, as a teen. Got interested in the oldies about 12 years ago, now I have a houseful.
