I've been using a rubber mulch trap for quite some time- closer to a decade than not. My first trap using rubber mulch was ~ 12" per side and 18" deep . . .

Same or less

I use Coroplast 'yard sign' material covered with duct tape. Pretty quiet. The duct tape holds it together longer and protects it from the Sun/UV. Doesn't get brittle and crack, like it would otherwise. I can get 2-3 years from one sign. Re-taping occasionally to contain mulch leaks.

Election signs are great for this, especially if it is a candidate that you don't support, and they are free. Lol

A friend built me this 5"x5"x12" target box that has a steel backing plate that I layer with duct seal then rubber mulch then duct seal then rubber mulch..about 4 layers. Makes for a small, quiet, light to carry shooting target box.

(i.e., about how many shots before cleaning out pellets/repacking holes?)
