Title: P15 air tube thread sizes??
Post by: Stryderb on August 05, 2022, 07:03:08 PM
Hi all, apologies if I've posted this into the wrong gate but I've joined the forum in the hope of getting some information on the air tube thread sizes!

Specifically I am looking to procure an extended tube for my pp700sa pistol. I'm based in the UK so we have this pistol branded as SMK/Artemis/Zasdar but I'm aware it made under several different names such as snowpeak etc.

I have heard a rumour that the air tube of the P15 has the same thread size but without one to measure I can't say for sure.

I do have an SMK/Artemis P10 Shorty which I've dismantled to measure the air tube, my finding were as follows:
Tube OD = 34.85mm
Tube ID (measuring the threads) = 30.00mm
Thread pitch = 1.5

The PP700 air tube has the below measurements:
Tube OD = 31.80mm
Tube ID (measuring the threads) = 26.49mm
Thread pitch= 1.0

Does anyone happen to have the data on the P15 tube?? Or know of an air tube with the same dimensions as the PP700 above that I could use?

Apologies for the long post but I've trawled the internet trying to find any and all possibilities of extending my pp700 air tube and drawing a blank. I would rather not use a bottle if I can help it and would like to stick with a tube with an OD of 32mm

Thanks all in advance!!

The P15 and Pp700 have the same thread pitch and diameter. You will still need to concern yourself with oring engagement at both ends depending on what fill port you decide to use and on the regulator end. If you have a Huma in your PP700 and bypassed the stock reg, oring engagement on that end of the gun will no longer be important.

Frank I cannot thank you enough for this! I've spent weeks trying to get some info on this and until this morning I've been clueless! Would it be too much to assume that the threads on the fill port end are also the same as the PP700? It will have a huma reg fitted so that should sort out the receiver end at least!

Thank you again

Yes, the threads are the same. I just can’t verify, because I’m not taking my P15 apart, that the ID of the tubes and the depth of how far in the threads are cut are the same. So if it were me, I would get a P15 fill port plug just in case. I built a long tube PP700 for my brother-in-law but I just made the tube and cut everything to fit the stock PP700 hardware. My gut tells me your PP700 plug will work and seal up fine in the P15 tube but don’t hold me to it.

Thanks Pelletjunkie, my P15 tube arrived today and I'm very pleased to say that it threads up to the receiver on my pp700 and even the original fill valve and gauge assemble screwed straight on. Pressure tested it and no leaks at all. Extremely grateful for your input on this mate I owe you several beers!
