Honestly in hind sight I would go with option C. I would utilize the classifieds. And have seen some pretty awesome deals.

It all depends on where you would buy the used (preowned) gun from. Classifieds here _ without a doubt a solid yes! Reputable sellers like AoA, Baker airguns, Mike Baker (a member here) another solid yes. E-bay... well... you are taking chances of finding "minor" details omitted in the seller's description, at least that is my experience.
In today's market even a new rifle can have little problems out of the box, depends on how lucky you are.
