Back Room / Re: So....Whatcha Eating?« Last post by hallwoo on Today at 12:04:11 AM »Why is Parisian bread so good?
French flour tends to be made with a lower ash content than the flour from other countries. There are two things which make French bread so amazing. 1) Flavor: Mixing the yeast with a little flour and water ahead of time gives a big flavor boost. This is called a poolish or preferment.Sep 23, 2016 https://www.google.com/search?q=parisian+bread&rlz=1C1PRFI_enUS1084US1093&oq=parisia&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDggAEEUYJxg7GIAEGIoFMg4IABBFGCcYOxiABBiKBTIGCAEQRRg5Mg0IAhAAGIMBGLEDGIAEMgcIAxAAGIAEMgoIBBAAGLEDGIAEMgcIBRAAGIAEMgcIBhAAGIAEMhMIBxAuGK8BGMcBGIAEGJgFGJkFMgcICBAuGIAEMgcICRAAGI8CqAIIsAIB&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 A total of 30 million baguettes are eaten in France each day. At least that is what the French claim. There, only bakeries that bake fresh bread every day are allowed to call themselves a “Boulangerie”, which might explain the high quality of baguettes throughout the country. What’s more, the French bread law specifies set rules for baking baguette: The only ingredients allowed are flour, salt, water and yeast. According to law, a baguette must also weigh between 250-300 grams and have a length of 55-65 centimeters. It needs to be soft on the inside, and crispy on the outside. In this episode of Food Secrets, we let you in on what makes France’s most famous bread so special, where it originated from, and what cultural significance it has to the French. 6

Crosman-Benjamin Air Gun Gate / Re: Extended Pump 1322« Last post by ray1377 on April 17, 2024, 11:57:42 PM »I put the 2200 tube gun back together with a stronger hammer spring and a power adjuster resulting in no more retained air at 8 pumps. Doing so got an extra 19fps to 589fps at 8 pumps with the 14.3g pellets. Going to leave it there for now until I decide to turn it into something else as I usually do at some point. After all it's a LEGO you know. I ran both of my 1322 guns over the Chronograph today at 8 and 12 pumps to compare short tube to the long. Both are set up the same with flat top valve/pumps. The short tube at 8 pumps got 485fps, at 12 pumps it got 545fps with no retained air. The long tube at 8 pumps got 589fps with no retained air, at 12 pumps it got 641fps with a small bit of retained air. I usually only go 6 pumps in the pistols unless taking a shot at pests. Here are the two together. It seems I gained about 100fps either way compared. Awesome Ray 8

Air Gun Gate / Re: So.....what did you shoot today?« Last post by sekiar on April 17, 2024, 11:34:20 PM »It was in the mid 80s today so I pulled out my AR2078 in .117 caliber and went through 4 carts. Also cleaned the barrel as it was really dirty. Then I spent the rest of the time shooting my HW351E stainless and fitted in a nice walnut stock. Setting on top is a Hawke Vantage 4 power scope and what shooting machine the set up is. A rewarding afternoon shoot. Charles
