I have yet to own the 853 but, the m/m 880s are our most shot guns when we shoot together. We seldom pump more than 5 pumps so I'm pretty sure the 853 would match the power.

I hadn't shot my 853 in many months and got it out today. It was almost boring how with my bad eyesight I could still group 10 shots under a dime at 30 ft. Since I had accumulated a lot of different pellets, I thought I would evaluate them in the 853. That didn't get far. I took out the pellets that I have yet to find anything that would group (daisy pellets from tractor Supply). In my other guns they would pattern rather than group. In the 853 they all went in under a dime. I wonder if there are any pellets out there than this rifle will not shoot accurately?
