Title: FWB 124 Where would I look to find a grip cap
Post by: ddmann on November 08, 2017, 02:06:17 PM
Lucked into an FWB 124 Deluxe in reasonable condition last week.  While the stock is in pretty good shape it lacks the grip cap, and I am on the hunt for one.  If you either have one or know where I should look for one email me at:

dreardon999atcomcast.net  Remove the word "at" and replace with the symbol @

I had shot a friends 124 a few years ago and was impressed with both its  smallish size, and power, no twang with a gentle "thunk".  I have kept an eye out for one since then. Over the intervening years I noticed a ton of listings, but none at a price I was willing to spend. Got lucky when a friend of friend put his up for sale.  He thinks he bought it in 1984. After an examination of the pics I happily bought it.

When I talked with the seller he apologized for the lack of a grip cap saying he lost track of it when he refinished the stock about seven or eight years ago.  He also said he was pretty sure he could find the sights for it in a few weeks, and that I should call and remind every couple of weeks, (I think he just wants to talk airguns!).  Right now it is wearing one of those old Beeman grenade style muzzle breaks.  Eventually I may try to hunt down a set of sights / diopter for it, but I am in no hurry. I may also have to attempt a tune with this as it is a bit "jumpy" no twang, it just dances a little jig after the shot.

So any hints or insights you have on these guns are heartily welcomed.

Try John Groenwald at JLG airguns, or Rick at Precision Pellet.
