New feller to the forums and hello everyone.
I have a RWS 34 coming and need a scope!!! My dad is a true believer in the center point 4-16x44 tag scope, my hatsun 95 has a leapers 3-9x44 I think it is side lighted reticle knob. It's a good scope, I am stuck on what to get for this Springer I am trying to stay $100 mark. I seen on here the discovery scopes the one I like is the second plane vtz 4-16x44 or the vtz 3-12x44 this one will ship quicker. Also looked at some Bushnell banner maybe or hawke vantage but it seems to be hit or miss.
What suggestions you guys have thanks for the info guys. Ohh I have a free 100$ gift card from opticsplanet but they don't have discovery scopes and I could spend a extra 50 for one but none of them say air gun safe other than a bsa thanks guys!!!

My RWS 48 ate two $125 + scopes. Now it has iron sites. My 34 has never had a scope on it. I can hit 3" disk at 35 yards standing just about evert time. I even once seated hit a beer cap at that range. All I could see was the sun hitting it just right. Any cheap scope will be wasted after it gets sited in (At least that has been my luck :()

I have had good luck with the UTG line of scopes from the lower end up.

Glad you posted this Jeremy. I just picked up a 1990 Diana 34 and have been wondering the same thing. Mine has an almighty TWANG to it. Will be curious to know how yours feels when you get it. Could you report back please, or PM me?
I'll be following this thread and will report anything I find out about your scope question.

I would recommend a UTG drooper mount, some UTG low max strength rings, and a UTG scope. They are a great bang for the buck and most of their scopes are springer rated. I've had excellent luck with their SWAT scopes. I had the setup above on my 34 pro compact with a UTG 3-12 SWAT scope and it worked really well.

Is this the mount you're referring to? That's a LOT cheaper than a BKL!!

Cool. Forgot to ask - I have several UTG scopes, at least one of them is a SWAT. Are the SWAT versions more heavy duty for the recoil, or do you think any of my UTG's would hold up?

I have some in the $50. range that are holding up well, though the wire crosshairs are rather large on them they are tough. I prefer bug buster and the true hunter and up for better optical quality. They also have gotten heavier use for that reason, and are still holding zero, also they have a good warranty.

No problem stinger it's all good, I was just looking at the utg rws droop mount it's 13.99 on eBay!!
And stinger mine hasn't arrived yet it will be 3-4 days I got the 34p the synthetic stock version, with air Depot ship and all it was $242.00 free 3day ship. Dad has 4 rws 34 and it and every other gun he does the vortek tune kits which make it shoot Better and smoother and etc!!!! Lol I'm just curious though is the tune needed, can a basic stock rws 34 shoot as good as a tuned one? I don't know. Check out them discovery scopes I love the looks it's at airgunoptics.com and I like the utg also I just don't know which one lol!!

Jeremy - Thanks for the info on that RWS mount. I'll look into that.
I was thinking about a Vortek kit, but in general, I leave my rifles as stock, especially ones that I find in near mint condition such as my 1990 Diana 34. It is actually the 100 Jarhe Jubilaum version. I picked it up in a shop that I frequent. They gave me 80 bucks for some 9mm luger ammo (that I've had for like 25 yrs. now LOL) and I gave them another $82 for the gun.

I'll go through the mainspring and other internals after the New Year and look at that T01 as well.
What all did you do to your trigger. Polish and lube, or more?

I was gonna get a scope at optics planet and I seen a 3-12x40 Bushnell banner for 119$ I about hit order and I went and looked and it's not Springer rated.... getting a scope is so aggravating. The guy at airgunoptics.com didn't call me back from email about the discovery scopes!!!!!
Heck I don't know what to get I guess hawke vantage isn't Springer rated??? A guy on the other air forum said this utg rws mount will still move with 4 bolts plus 2 lags to keep it in place??? Big aggravation!!

I'm curious now about what Diana intended in the first place for mounting a scope. I'm told (and have read) not to use the stop holes, as that is not what those two holes are for. Don't use the rear slotted head screw for the same reason. Only option I guess is to use the type mount that has a "foot" or stepped down notch in the front. ??

I didn't get the foot one because it said it was for guns with t05 trigger???? I don't know dad was saying the newer rws 34 doesn't have the barrel drop like the old ones so who knows!!

Thomas (Roadworthy) told me the same thing. I haven't checked mine yet. Mine is a 1990.

OK. I just went out to the garage and checked. Yep, it's cold.
Oh, and my barrel has about 1/8" of droop as well. That's from the breech to the muzzle, just eyeballin' :o

Mine does, I used the mount in the photo posted above. Also I like Weaver six screw Tactical rings, have never had a scope slip in them, even on my scope killer mdl 48.

I did just buy a scope I talked to Cyclops off YouTube and got some good info, got the bushnell ar 223 3-9x40! Even Cyclops said that mount would work well, I got it for $119 free 2 day ship (100$) gift card so I only had to pay $19.
