FYI ... Hatsan fasteners are just plain steel, NOT GRADED. You MUST use tools that fit the fasteners PERFECTLY or you WILL DAMAGE the fastener heads. I've seen this on EVERY ONE of the refurbs I've work on (dozens!). Everyone wants to blame the Hatsan steel, but it is really the IMPROPER SIZING of the tools used.

I have a SEPARATE set of tools that I have custom ground to fit the various Hatsan fasteners PERFECTLY and I have not FUDGED one of the fastener heads yet :-)

Suggest you clean barrel, push a pellet, then shoot a couple hundred pellets on target and over a chronograph to get a FEEL for the rifle and some baseline velocity and accuracy data before you go inside for any changes.

Don't rely too much on the pushed pellet for accuracy prediction. I have very tight and very LOOSE bores that are equally accurate. I DON'T have any free-fall-pellet bores. THAT could be a problem barrel.
The push pellet is used to locate a choke (if there is one). I also use it to examine the rifling marks on the pellet. If rifling is smeared then you might have a bad crown (muzzle burr), a bad leade, or a damaged bore.
FWIW, I have NEVER had any of these happen on a Hatsan yet. Bad muzzle crowns (all repaired) on Crosman and Beeman QB rifles YES, but not on any Hatsans... yet.

Don't use the polymer disc #488. It doesn't really do anything. It is either missing or badly shredded and falling apart in every rifle I've opened. Polish the spring ends and add a dab of moly paste to let the spring and the back of the piston head form a slippery bearing. The spring will do its little twist/untwist dance with no energy loss or damage.

Make a LONG SNUG spring guide similar to what I did here for the Mod85 (same internals). I used a cheap <$3 bolt from Lowes and a drill press. If you have a lathe that opens up many other material possibilities.
Basically just replace the factory spring guide #498 with a longer better fitting one you make.

Don't get too concerned about precision down to 0.001". Many parts in the Hatsans are sloppy/crude, but theses rifles still perform very nicely.

A good spring guide with some proper (sparse) lube will make the Mod95 the "best it can be" for a bargain entry level springer.

So true!  I suggest that you order a second set of stock screws.  They will get mangled!!!
