Back Room / Re: So if you didn't do anything airgun related what did you do today?« Last post by maraudinglizard on Today at 02:48:07 AM »Kris all the dopes on youtube making poor quality videos can make the process of learning how to work on your car quite exhausting with poorly lit poorly focused videos with bad audio and advice. I suggest downloading the vids you find useful because later on they may be deleted as I've found with many vids. Is what I do with helpful vids of car/gun/mower/tractor/chainsaw/blower repair videos. I just look at them long enough to see how to start. If the video starts out with loud music and the person is obnoxious I will just move on to the next one. I am not interested in those that are hung up on themselves and the drama. Most of the automotive vids are pretty civilized and I can get past the slightly out of focus stuff. What really funny sometimes is the comments have better info than the video itself. 2
German AirGun Gate / Installed a ARH Magnum kit in my buddy's R1 grinding/scraping sound?« Last post by Ike the GSD on Today at 02:30:37 AM »My buddy and I installed an ARH magnum kit in his R1 today, it's the same kit we installed in my HW80 not long ago and now his rifle makes this grinding/scraping sound and I can't figure out why? We installed the kit in exactly the same way as we did my rifle, the only thing I can think of is the cocking shoe is rubbing on something, but why wasn't it rubbing with the factory parts? I took the action out of the stock and I couldn't see any metal shavings or any place that showed metal on metal contact. His rifle was made in 1991 and has the old style shoe. Is there a way to convert the older rifles to the new style cocking shoe ? I need help fellas I just don't know what could have happened.🤷♂️ Thanks guys👍

Optics, Range estimation & related subjects / Re: Mini Night Vision Scope« Last post by Back_Roads on Today at 01:07:09 AM » So to keep my mind off of my leaky snake , I decided to try my luck at some cheap thrills. So I mounted the mini on the AF Talon and well one issue, the nice bolt they provide is a wee bit too large in diameter to go through the rail slot, eazee fix grab a smaller machine screw and nut with locking washer, all good. !
Now let's see if it zeros , holds zero, remembers zero, and it does, but one has to be careful when using the zero buttons for other functions, zooming being the main one. I watch and count how many clicks the crosshair moves the click back accordingly. Another thing I discovered is if I choose to have no crosshairs, then switch back to crosshairs, it resets to optical zero, but it is only a click or 2 off from where I want it set at 8 power. I will see if I can find my mini sd card thingy and put some footage up. I was playing with it after I gave up hunting tonight waiting on the rest of the group to get back. I was looking out to 1/2 mile seems like the from point blank to150 yard range is it's best use 5
Air Gun Gate / Re: What airgun related did you do today?« Last post by Trlillyb on Today at 01:05:06 AM »I picked up a Webley premier and a Beeman 700 recently. Both appear to have been sitting around unused for years. In both guns the old oil in the compession tube had become thick and very tacky. I have also seen oil become an adhesive when really old and dried out. This dry, tacky oil destroyed the piston seal on the Beeman.

Air Gun Gate / Re: So.....what did you shoot today?« Last post by airgunaut on Today at 12:17:22 AM »I stuck two Shatterblast discs in separate holders. After two misses with the Model 25, I hit both of them, shooting outdoors while sitting on the ground. Brrrr. I don't especially like those discs. They leave sharp frags and don't sound as good as cans.
The coldness (in the high 30s) made me do the rest of the shooting at a mini soda can propped on boxes, standing offhand, familiar distance of 33'. When the can fell on the ground, I smacked it around with a few more hits before putting it back on its pedestal. Standing isn't as cold as sitting, but even so I was glad my fingers didn't have to finesse loading for every shot. 8
