Cool builds , they have given me some ideas now. One question, will a pumpmaster 760 barrel fit on a 2240, I have one kicking around and was just wondering.

If you have most of the rest of the 760, you can look up the part number for this guns barrel https://www.crosman.com/product/crosman-m4-177-177-pellet-bb-pneumatic-pump-air-rifleand make the 760 a riffle

David, don't let those two obsticals stop you from building a stubby.Left had breeches are available from many aftermarket suppliers and I don't think Crosman ever made a "rear cocker" 2240 like the early 13XX guns. What looks like that in Bill's photos are power adjusters... not cocking handles.
Here's my 2240 converted to .25 Cal, 12" LW barrel, TKO, Ruger Mark 1 rear sight and grips I made from Maple Burl. With a custom valve from Mountain Air Guns it hits 520fps with 20g Field Target Trophy pellets for about 15 good shots on a CO2 cartridge.

I know. What I want is a true rear cocking bolt like a Benji pistol. If I could find an E series that didn't cost an arm and a leg I'd be happy.I'm betting something like the early Benji pistols could be doable, probably something I could actually do.
It's not uncomfortable at all to reach over the breech with my left hand and cock these pistols. But I get it... it's personal choice.
