Just a reminder, We only have a month till our Indiana airgun shoot. I have failed badly at getting sponsers for the shoot. I got a compressor that will fill our rifles, it is not big enough to fill large tanks. Steelplinkers had said he will furnish some targets for a field target range for us to get a feel for what that is like. None of the other companies I contacted has even responded. So I guess we are not going to have any door prizes. I will contact most of them again this week and see if I can get an answer.Get your guns oiled, you pellets packed, make a list of all the things you are going to bring, and let's get together and shoot something.Don't forget if you have anything we could use to shoot at, bring it.Jimmy
If you buy food and drinks to feed the masses, you should at least put out a tip jar to defray the costs. Most of us are just happy to have a place to shoot and like-minded airgunners to yack at.
Hay Guys, I was on one of the other forums and a member made a post about a possable shooting game. His idea was to take paper targets and set them up in the woods, at unmarked ranges, and score targets using kill zones. Head, heart, lung. The kill zones will be marked with very light lines you can not see unless real close. So you shoot where you think the kill zone is and score after the shot. You shoot from a box, any way you want. Some targets will have some of the kill zone covered. If you don't shoot no negetive score, if you shoot and miss the target you get a negetive score. Multiple targets per station, When you shoot you go down and get score your target and set a new one for the next shooter. What do you think? Want to try it at our shoot. I would need help with getting the targets drawn up. I am no artist. Can not draw flies on a hot afternoon in the river bottoms kind of bad.
manage to hack my way through Photoshop CS and could make targets, or alter ones you selected.the problem with unmarked distances is, it is total luck to hit the target (depending on size) and total luck to hit the right spot .. might be better to mark the spot, but make it dime sized or smaller at up to 25 yards
Dang Joe... that sounds rough.(Un)Fortunately I am on the North EAST side of the state... 2 1/2 hours from Crown Point... but if you are ever up for a road trip (and and other Hoosiers) I got 28 acres to play in.You and any other local members are welcome to come on over. Maybe I can set up a Saturday all day shoot for us GODS COUNTRY folks like the "Spring Fling" that was in Southern Indiana this year. Not to replace it... but in addition to.Thinking maybe in the early fall before the snow season hits?
