D48 With Vortek, Can Deliver!

I recently rebuilt my D48 using the Vortek “High Output” spring kit. After settling her it at 50 to my satisfaction it was time to stretch things out, and see if she can do, what I love to do most. Long range plinkin’ nothing formal. Just some casual shooting to assess the performance of the new spring kit. I was pleased with the results. But for a danged flyer that just had to ruin a great thing! Ahh... What can you do...?

The horses were interested...


I love this scope. I keep it zeroed for 50 yards. You can see “Plinky” my practice squirrel in the lower right of my reticle...

 
The extra yard is to account for the length of the rifle...

All in all not bad for the newly rebuilt rifles first trip to the long range bench.


I’m still trying to put a group together for a 125 yard entry. Maybe this year will be the year...

When I had the scope on my 48 it would do 1" or less all day long at 35 yards.

Of all the rifles I’ve bought; I’ve found none better.
