Good shooting Michael. The squirrel most likely put her head down and turned it to scratch the neck for ticks or whatever as you pulled the trigger, and it went through the ear first and then entered the body. They move very fast so maybe that all happened in fractions of a second and the timing was just right.

Great shooting Michael !!! One of the red squirrels that I shot yesterday looks like it was shot in the ear in the past, when I seen that pic of the squirrel you shot I had to make a pic of it
