They are both backyard friendly and neither is particularly hold sensitive. My HW30S is at 7FPE and the HW50S is at 12FPE. Different capabilities, but both a joy to shoot. You won't be disappointed.
a do it all rifle
It sounds like I should have both. "dang" it money is tight and I wanted a do it all rifle for a while. Confused..

From your criteria I would say the R7 and caliber was the perfect choose. They are great.
As you may know ( if you read mynprevious thread) I ordered yesterday a Beeman R7 in .177.Now I am starting to doubt myself. Should I have ordered a HW50s as a more all around gun? For those of you that have both, are they equally backyard friendly? What about hold sensitivity? Which one would you prefer?
I prefer my HW30 in .177cal over my HW50 that was in .177cal
