Air Gun Gate / Re: TX200 HC not what I had hoped for so far...« Last post by Yarddog on Today at 09:28:00 PM »I have both the 200 and a 97...what I have noticed is that the 97...and the LGU...make accuracy easier than the 200. Also, when the TX starts to shotgun, it's time to clean the barrel. That's not an original idea...other folks have noticed this as well.

German AirGun Gate / Re: HW Peep Sight System Question« Last post by WD Feese on Today at 09:25:12 PM »I have an older HW35 which would not take an Anschutz 6723 as the rails were to wide. This is an older model 35 from the leather seal Era.

Air Gun Gate / Re: I love break barrels and under lever air guns.« Last post by Yarddog on Today at 09:24:58 PM »I enjoy the challenge of springers, and I believe that if you can shoot them well, then you'll be able to shoot anything well. I prefer underlevers over break barrels, but I have several of both.

Air Gun Gate / Re: New Air Gun Maintenance - What do you do?« Last post by Yarddog on Today at 09:22:53 PM »I generally use Tom Gaylord's technique as detailed on the Pyramyd Air website...
1. introduce some bore cleaner into the barrel. I use Hoppes #9...some will warn against this, but I have confidence in it. I let it sit for a few minute. 2. I run a brass bore brush thru the barrel ten to twenty times. 3. I then soak a bore mop in Hoppes #9 and run it thru ten to twenty times, then use a clean, dry mop to clean that out...ten to twenty times. 4. I'll then run a mop with non-embedding bore paste on a mop, again ten to twenty times. 5. I'll clean out the past with Hoppes #9 on a mop, ten to twenty. 6. I might repeat the Hoppes #9 on a clean mop...ten to twenty. 7. Then dry it all out, either with a clean mop or patch. Ten to twenty. Yep...a lotta work. But I have confidence in this ritual. And that right there is the key...use the techniques that YOU have confidence in! I was looking at a video recently where the guy had been shooting his new rifle for a while, then he decided to run a DRY patch through his barrel about five times, then he was amazed when his his pellets began shotgunning. Of course, he blamed the rifle. In my opinion, the problem was not the rifle. The problem jumped right out at me... 15
