Most if not all sand bags on the market are geared towards high powered rifles. The majority are of the tapered “V” variety. If an air gun is pivoted to the left or right there is contact at the sides of the forearm grip which alters flex & consequently pellet flight. I prefer a flat platform that is firm.
I guess you could say I am pretty cheap when it comes to dishing out hard earned money to buy something I should be able to make. I took an old t-shirt, sewed one end (by hand), filled it with sand & sewed up the other end. It works great except the sand needs to be firmed up after a few sessions. As long as the sand is firm the gun performs well.
My question is; do any other members have sand bag anxiety or is it just me…& has anyone else come up with a sand bag that works well for you?

Several years ago, someone (unknown) mentioned a sock filled with rice. Tried it. To adjust the pocket, just move the knot.
It's cheap, easily adjustable and works for me.

I've got three shot bags. They look like mini pillows. I set one on top of four bricks , two long ways and two on top of those cross ways. Works good for me
I have a Caldwell Tac Driver. It seemed to me it held the forearm in the "V" to tight, counter to the artillery hold. But I have a bud swears by his.

The leg of an old jeans.
Sew one end closed, fill with media, sew shut.
Media: sand, seeds, walnut shells, plastic beads, etc.
Sand will pack hard, and you do not want that for a spring air rifle.

As long as the bag maintains good compaction with the slightest give the gun preforms very well. Maybe I need to figure out a better way to take up gaps in the fabric/sand before I sew it closed.
Thanks for your comments.
