Question For Massachusetts Shooters:
«

Hello fellow Mass. airgun shooters!
My question is: Where do you go for shooting your airgun?
I don't have the luxury of having a backyard where I can shoot my gun. So far I've called 4 or 5 different gun clubs but they all require you to become a member before you're allowed to use their ranges. No such thing as paying per hour or per day. I understand where they're coming from. My problem is that in a month or two I'll be relocating to Florida. For that reason I was trying to avoid investing $200-$300 bucks in a membership I won't be able to use in the near future. I can put that money towards equipment and etc.
Are you aware of any place I could go that would let me pay per hour/day here in Mass?
Thank you in advance for helping.

Renato, Not knowing your location, all i can offer at this time is what i have used. Being in north central Mass, i have gone to the Leominster sportsman's association, 1455 Elm st. Call to check out the conditions. Was there last fall, had a good time. Nice and clean. You will need hearing protection however. I used the 100 yrd range. They were ok with my using my own target rigs closer in. Follow protocal and all is good.
The open to public time is sunday 9 am to noon. That was last year, it is private so things can change at will. Call and check first.
Hope that helps.

Hey John!
Yes that helps a lot! I'm in Northborough in the Worcester area. I'm definitely whiling to travel a bit since I found no other options near me yet. Just so you know... I've just spoke to Art O'Leary, their president, and he was very nice on the phone. Gave some info about the place and I'll be there tomorrow (Sunday 24th) at 9am or so. If you happen to be around it would be a honor to meet you there!
Meanwhile, if you or anybody else from the area have other info about any other place you guys go please let me know!!! Like I said, I'm whiling to travel a bit.
Thank you very much John... I'm looking forward to visit their club tomorrow.

Check into some of the local archery ranges. I think both of the ones near me allow airguns by the hour during certain days/times.

Thank you Nick... I'll definitely check them out this week. Great option there. Like I said before the more info the better!!!
I also want to thank you once again John. I went to the range you've recommended and had a great time in there. Now I understand the requirement for ear protection... Boy were those guns loud!!! Also great people in there. It is a little bit far from where I live but like I said I haven't found anything closer yet so that was great! I'll try to get in touch with the places Nick suggested as well... I also have a bow so maybe I can do both in there.
Meanwhile if anybody else from Mass can think of other place please let me know... Thank you!

Renato i've had some computer issues. Shortly after i posted the info for you.....my laptop pretty much lost it's mind.
My six year old loves games, and uses my laptop constantly. all the &^^& on those game sites wasted my drive - anti virus was out of date. My fault. Pressed back into service my "nice" laptop he killed with spilling a soda on the keyboard - man was i mad!!!!! Pulled the battery, hard drive, and rinsed it with hot water under the sink. Yes, it worked. seems fine now. Let it dry in the sun for a week, just to be completely sure all water was gone.
Glad leominster worked out well for you, good bunch of folks over there. The hearing protection warning i found out the loud way. a member was using a .45/70 60 feet away from me with hot loads. I could feel every round in my chest.....1st round sent me to my car for the muffs. Should have known better. I few conversations i have had there sort of lead to think they may set aside an air gun only range at some future point.
Glad you enjoyed it, i'll see if i can come up with something a little closer to you. Shoot safe, John
