Hunting in The Fog & Snow !
A.K.A. Tommy Boy:
I managed to connect on these two guys ...today. :)
The temperature Warmed Up to a respectable + 31F this morning so I decided to try for a hunt. No Wind at All.
When I first went out it was foggy with hoar frost on the tree branches.
Later on it warmed up to slightly above +32 F and the frost began to melt.
It was a great day to be out in the woods.
I walked the woods this morning, following up a favorite game trail that meanders past several White Oak trees.
My chosen air rifle this morning was my 117cal Hatsan Vortex Striker. ( Mounted in to an Edge stock)
I was shooting Gamo Red Fire 117cal 7.8gr Hunting Pellets.
Both shots were to the upper chest.
Both shots were taken while I was kneeling & my off-hand supported by my forward knee.
The range was around 30 yds.
The squirrels were on the ground, digging in the snow for white oak acorns
The snow was wet... that was a Big Help ! ......... No Crunch Crunch with each step.
I could move thru the snow very silently....like a......Timber Ghost.
They neither heard nor saw me coming today.
Best Wishes - Tom

Tommy, great day to hunt for you...great shooting on those two nutters! The snow was perfect for trekking. The only thing besides paper I shot today was this grasshopper sitting on one of our plumeria trees using my camera! LOL

Gee Whiz...Nice " Shot " on the Grasshoper ! I Like It ! I haven't even seen a Grasshopper since August.
How did you do on shooting the paper?

Tommy, you’re welcome! I shot well today thank you! I’ve really been working on my sight picture by religiously getting into the same routine for eye placement to get as repetitive and consistent as I can with a nice slow consistent trigger pull. It’s like golf to me, a consistent repetive set up creates the best opportunity to succeed :). These PCP’s are accurate...I on the other hand...LOL!

Well said Randall ! Perfect Practice makes for Good Shot Placement when the time comes for it.
Regarding PCP's........There is a - Whole Lot of Up Side - to a good PCP. Power-Range-Accuracy-Multiple Repeating Shots
Even though I shoot cheap springers ...I certainly am aware of their numerous merits and applaud their outstanding performance.
Best Wishes - Tom
