That is the beauty of these old multi-pump pneumatic airguns. Not only energy but adjustable to distance needed.

There is just about no reason for more than 4 pumps when shooting at 10 yards, unless you're trying to blow the bejeesus out of something. I typically give my non-steroid Streaks 4 pumps for 20 yard shooting
