Two 2200's and issues.

I have two 2200's, one in chrome, one in blue.
The chrome I am thinking a bad hammer spring. Anything more then 7 pumps and I am pretty sure I am getting valve lock. First shot I get a little power i guess I will say, second shot more power, third shot, little, then on the 4th shot the gun is empty.
I thought this was caused by a bad spring, so as Crosman no longer has parts for the 2200 I ordered a spring for a 2100, installed this spring and I have the same deal.
Thoughts on what it could be next....the valve itself, and if it is, is the entire valve the same as the one in the 2100....i am thinking no, and would a rebuild kit from a 2100 fit in the 2200 valve...again I think no.
General thought on what my issue could be....I would like to get these old gals back to shooting again.
On the blue I have replaced the piston cup, again from a 2100, that did seem to fix its major issue of not building pressure. but is is now having the same "power" kind of issue.

Sounds like a sticking valve stem.
Could just be gunked up from non use.
The older valve stems are brass with a soft seal that breaks down over time.
Try some pelgun oil or some have had success with the "alcohol flush".
The valve is probably brass and the new ones are aluminum so it's
worth it to rebuild the old ones.
The big challenge is getting the old valves apart.
Some have Loctite and can be difficult without proper tools and heat.
May have to replace the valve stem and reseal while you're at it.
Rebuild kits are available but you can get the parts much cheaper from Crosman.

I thought the 2100/2200 powerplants were interchangeable?

Totally interchangeable.
FPGT72; give Crosman a call and order the 2100 valve parts and use them to rebuild the Brass valve of the 2200s

heating the valve with a hot airgun helps with the Loctite and ideally use collets to separate the two halves of the valve
