Ben397 and I went last year. Not a large show 50 or more tables but a bunch of great people. Not to mention some great vendors Of popular guns.
Ben397 and I planning on going again this year. We had a blast last year. Not sure which day?
We might meet up?
Much to look at that one may have never seen in this hobby. Not to mention the BIG BORES? Mr Hollow point was there last year. Something to see! Unreal what some of these guys build.

Wouldn't you know it?  A jury duty notice was in the mailbox informing me that next Friday is an hour long orientation for a 4 month service period.  Why they scheduled it for 1pm is beyond my comprehension.  Why not 9am so it won't screw up my work day?   >:(

Maybe I'll be able to stop by Saturday before heading to work. :-\

Hoping to get a regular shooting competition in NW Arkansas.  Indoor silhouette works well in Tulsa with at least two ranges having a weekly match.  There had been a FT club with a shooter in Berryville taking the lead and having a course at his property.

Ideally we would find a location to establish a indoor silhouette match.  The two in Tulsa use a clubhouse affiliated with a gun club,  but could be other location.  Might even have a lead on space in Springdale.  We need someone to be the club manager to help get the club going and keep it going.  Unfortunately my your family and busy work allow me to only be support for such a group.
Title: Re: arkansas
Post by: Korak-again on May 20, 2015, 04:09:19 PM
The Berryville club as far as I know went away several years ago.  I don't know of anyplace indoors that could do the distance for
 Silhouette.
Title: Re: arkansas
Post by: chardosmith on May 21, 2015, 12:03:20 AM
The two ranges in Tulsa use reduced scale metal silhouettes and a 10M range for all animals.  A fencing instructor in Springdale entertained the idea of using his building for silhouette,  but we would need a lead person to make it all come together.

Post by: Korak-again on May 21, 2015, 08:12:52 AM
What size chicken would be used for 10m?  The rimfire/airgun silhouette chicken is only about two inches high and is shot at twenty.  The other question is, why indoors?
Title: Re: arkansas
Post by: chardosmith on May 21, 2015, 11:00:15 AM
I'd have to measure the chicken.  but probably 1.5 inches.

Indoors because that is what was established by the club.  Likely done to have a pleasant shoot year round.  They shoot nearly every week barring holiday or severe weather.

I am open to any shooting in the area,  just trying to model a regional shoot that has worked for over 10 years.

NASA - Northwest Arkansas Springgun Association had its first spring fun shoot last weekend.

A few buddies and I have started a local airgun club.  The hope is to have a regular indoor silhouette match - we are still waiting on a location, but have a couple of leads.

We decided a fun shoot was a needed event and it was last weekend.  Had about 25 shooters arrive and 7 were under 18 (including 3 of mine).  This was held at a cabin on 200 acres.  The range was set near a creek with a large field for the targets.  Thousands of pellets were fired and no a single incident (apart from the gun rack falling over).

Here are a few photos which include both of my daughters.  They are enamored with the R7 with ARH internals and a smaller stock my Mike Abernethy.  Such a great tool.  My 8yo had never shot before,  but spent over an hour hitting the 1 inch paddle on the resetable squirrel target over and over. :yahoo:   She loved it and even spent the next morning helping repaint the targets!

The Northwest Arkansas Spring gun Association is having its second fun shoot December 3 2016 at Whiskey Hollow in Combs Arkasas just 30 minutes west of Fayetteville.

Join other NASA members at this family friendly event for a day of casual plinking, air gun talk and to show off those special air guns. If you are new to air guns, don't be shy, as a number of experienced Air Gunners will be there to assist you.  Lots of airguns are available to try - you do not need an air gun to attend. Several canopies will be used to provide a shaded shooting line with multiple tables and shooting rests. Enjoy fun reactive targets from 10 yards out to 50+ yards including spinners, bells, army men and Field Targets. Bring your own picnic lunch and lawn chairs. Water and soft drinks will be provided. Children 8 and older are welcome to attend but please contact an administrator if you plan to bring younger children. Clean restrooms available.

Big bores welcome.

More details soon!

Please RSVP by email RazorbackNASA@gmail.com

I would love to attend but  knee replacement earlier this year and other knee scheduled for November 21st makes it impossible to attend.  Sounds like a BIG time. Enjoy all that can!!💀
