barrel defect?

I beleave I have a barrel that has a factory defect in the machining and rifling. It seems that there is a choke at both ends of my ruger impact max. I was going to try and fire lap this out but the more I look at it the more I think it will take more than a fire lap to remove that ridge.

At least it’s near the breech, which is generally less critical than the crown end.
You might try fire-lapping and shoot for groups. That ridge looks prone to collecting lead which won’t help accuracy down the road..
Lost the “barrel-lottery” myself, more than once, and it always blows.
