I saw and armadillo dead on the side of the road in Summerville on my way home the other night, anyone else seeing them alive or dead?

Does anyone know if there is going to be a season or are they going to be treated as any other invasive vermin and open kill on them?

I see them dead on the road around Abbevlle and Greenwood. They must be all over SC. Don't know about a season on them.

For anyone not from SC I have to explain it by saying, "You know where Columbia is? You know where Florence is? Camden is dead center of the two on I-20."  :D

I am here in Greer. We have a fun shoot twice a year (spring and fall). We have a range at our church that we sponsor Scout Troop 603 and all comers for an informal 10 meter fun shoot. We give away a lot of nice prizes, so we have lots of winners. I will post more when it's a little closer to the October or November event. The Boy Scouts usually have a bake sale and hotdog sale to boot. Hope some of you "Upstaters"could make it.

I am so sorry I forgot about this thread. I totally forgot that there was a state section on the forum! Winter time is when the big blue cats turn on! I'll keep y'all posted as to when we get started. I may fish the Santee some, and perhaps Winyah Bay. In winter I mostly fish the Blewett falls lake in NC, about 35 minutes from here in Bennettsville. If I don't quit buying airguns, I may never have the money to fish!  :-) I'm wheelin' and dealin' for a 34P currently.

We will keep it updated up until the week of the 2014 fun shoot.
We have a blast for two days. Lots of great folks and fantastic eye candy. Everyone lets you shoot there air guns and that  is one of the beauties of it. You get to  test drive air guns you always wanted but were affraid to buy them...:) Not to mention the hundreds of open free targets to shoot. Lots of food on Saturday with refreshments. All in all you will be around some of the nicest peeps and having a blast.

Hello gang!  I am from Trenton, SC.  Retired from the Army 19 years ago and entered
corporate life.  Now staring at retirement in 2 years.  We built a house on 7 acres across
from Twin Lakes Air Park.  We are new to SC and to modern Air Guns.  So, how do I fill
up my SynRod?  lol

Gene
SynRod Gen II .25 Cal just out of the box today.
Gamo Target Special .177 break barrel.  Has harvested plenty of tree rats.

Gene,
Heard of'em, but don't know much about them. Go to the Air Gun Gate in this forum or in the next two
categories find the country gate the gun's made in and ask there and you'll get a faster response. Example: My Hatsans are made in Turkey so I go to European/Asian air guns, then click Turkish air guns and I'm where I need to be to ask how to shoot my 135 without getting a black eye.

Wecome to GTA

and like Ole Tom Cat said go to S.C. fun shoot gate and check out Als' fun shoot and come shoot with us in Cross S.C. on Nov.8th. Good stuff, fun, guns, folks, hot dogs. We had guys from Columbia, York, Charleston, Hilton Head and me from Savannah. Later, Tim

I'm in Greer. I'm new to the sport and just ordered a HW30S and hope to get it in the next week or so.  I've always wanted to be able to target shoot with a .22 power burner, but that's never going to happen on the land we own, so I decided to give air guns a try.  I have a feeling that I'm going to wish that I picked it up 20 years ago!  Better late than never I guess.

Looks like I'm late to the show.

Long time powder burner and got the itch for an airgun (neighbors complain when I start shooting off rounds.)  After a long conversation with Greg from Airgundepot I went from what I thought was a nice Diana to a choice between two PCPs.  One of them was listed on Armslist so that made my choice for me.

So now I have a airgun and went to the Low Country site last Saturday and had just a ton of fun.  Shot the better part of a 500 tin.

Wifey says she's 'over it' with the guns and claims I may be slightly OCD.  Meh.  I think I could get away with inviting some friends over to shoot.

I live on 4 acres in Simpsonville and as long as we are careful not to sent them wildly in the air I can safely shoot at home.  Assuming of course the Church next door isn't holding some kind of event I think we are good to go.  From the porch where I shoot perpendicular to the fenceline is about 80 yds, over to the corner is well over 100.

Best time would probably be during the day when Wifey is away at work.  I work from home.

You'll probably find me down at Low Country in Cross, SC on Jan 21st too as I had a lot of fun the last time.

thx for the tip on where to find the photos,

a few questions:
1) what distances, in general
2) b.y.o.t. (&T)?? (bring your own tent, (and table)) - just wondering how much kit id need to pack, set up, and then take down.
3) how much air? i have a little 90 cu inch CF tank, and three cylinders to go on the gun
4) usual start/stop times?

i am working for the date in march,
and we are moving in march anyways, so april will be pretty busy domestically
may will be getting almost hot (to me)

so feb 11th seems a dream.
just trying to visualize things better, to decide  if i want t campaign to be away from wife/kids on my birthday (it IS mine, right? not theirs???)
and celebrate on sunday instead.

will definitely come some/often, looking forward to meeting folks, and learning a lot.

I usually set up targets  at 25, 50 ,75,and 100 yards. Some 10-15. Tree line is 105yards. Bring your own targets. First time you can shoot some of ours. I got a bunch of those plastic cardboard election signs to tape targets to. Collect them day after the election.

I bring a couple of foldeing tables and chairs and a pop-up tent overhead canopy.

I use a shot bag and some bricks to shoot off or a Caldwell tac driver bag.

I try to bring less guns but it still usually gets to be 10-12, ammo, tools, Extra scopes if one breaks. Water and snacks. There is a store a few miles away and a public restroom at a boat ramp a couple miles away. Some t.p. in case the restroom is out.

We try to get there by 9am but you get there when you can. Last time I couldn't make it till 1030. Start packing up about an hour before dark or when you tired or have to be home.

I don't shoot pcp. You'll have to ask the other guy's about air. It want be a big problem. Bring a hand pump if you have one. One guy has an electric pump.

My trunk and back seat are full  when I come.

You can shoot any gun I got. Most guys are the same. You can learn a lot or learn it your way. Fun stuff. It ain't competition. Usually 4-6 guys and a couple of gals. Lots of fun talk so bring a thick skin.

Later, Tim.

Hey James, I shoot with the guys and gals in Cross, S.C., I grew up in Charleston but have lived in Savannah, Ga for many years. I checked the map and you're about 170 miles from Cross. It's a 130 miles for me. 2.5-3 hours.

Our next shoot is Sept. 2nd. We took a couple of months off for the heat. If you want to GPS it, 440 Arch Dr., Cross, S.C. Between Santee and Moncks Corner. I 26 to U.S. 301, across to Santee, then S.C. 6 to Cross.

If you go back up this page you'll see where I told a guy what we do and what to bring if you have it. If not we got room and stuff you can use. Also if you go back to the S.C. Fun Shoot thread you see our thread, Big Als' Low Country Fun Shoot. Check in and say hey. About page 3-8 has a lot of pictures of us shooting. I'm the really good looking guy with red hair.

I'm planning to go up Friday night and get a room at the Econlodge, cheap, so I can get to the range early. If I leave on Saturday I can't get there till late then 3 hours home.

I'll PM you a phone number if you want to talk about it. Look forward to meeting you.
