Title: BEFORE calling Crosman
Post by: ezman604 on November 23, 2010, 04:27:32 PM
BIG Disclaimer Inserted here!!!!

BEFORE you open up your airgun and call Crosman, be advised if it is under warranty and you open it up, you just voided your warranty. Crosman will not be expected to honor any parts replacement or repairs without charging you. If it's out of warranty, feel free to open it up and do what you need to do.

Help Make Ordering Easier For Crosman Order Desk

Suggestion to make ordering from Crosman service center much more efficient. They receive hundreds of calls a day. When they have to do parts look up for each call it delays the next callers service.

I am putting up a link for Crosman Pistols and Rifles here for easy access so one can look up part numbers ahead of calling orders in. Hopefully this will help some.

At least the GTA is helping Crosman out. Spread the word and this link so it may be easier to order parts next time.

Someone already posted it for the Trail NPXL's.
And you can call Crosman customer service and request it.

I have the three pages of the parts manual for the Trail NPXL 17, 22 and 25 cal in JPEG file,  but can't get them to post on here.

Dave do you know how ?

Paul.

Paul, I updated the original post with diagrams for XL, Trail NP and the Cabelas Thumbhole model.
Had to shrink the size so if anyone has a problem reading it, let me know and I'll try again or send via email.

Great, thank you. Those are the same three pages I have for the Trail XL's

I just sent you a pm that maybe they should also be including in the "Air Gun Schematics" section of the Library.

And you thought your work was done huh ?  ;D

Have a great Turkey day !!!!

Never had a proubles with crosman. Now dealing with firearms is a hassle. Colt #1 hates to give parts out. Have problems or questions Crosman reps always good to talk to.

That is a Crosman Challenger air rifle. The stock was still available at the time of original post. Check the posts, there is a part number and contact info for Crosman to call and see if it's still available. You would have to paint it if you wanted a different color.

Awesome job Dave, I found this on my own but I was a auto parts guy for decades so it come natural to me.  the person I spoke to at Crosman was very nice and very helpful. I think they appreciate it when someone calls with the part numbers. So take note guys and use Dave information so he hasn't wasted his time and your ordering will be much easier and faster    OK I will get down off the first step of my soap box now LOL ;)

THANKS DAVE

I have no interest in those guns myself.

Though you did not have to shrink the size.  You could have just converted them to 16 color GIF images and they would have been data wise small enough while still maintaining the full size in pixels.

If you place an order with Crosman on the day after Monday , you get a 20% discount .
And ,if you join "Jollywallet" , you get another 6% off !

They don't offer a 20% discount anymore ;  and what exactly did Dave mean by "opening it up" ?

Were not all savvy to airgun slang ......... I took it to mean if I open the box it comes in , then I void the warentee ?

If I remove the stock to clean it - is that opening it up ??

Opening it up...disassembling the airgun. Removing the internals. ANYTHING out of the normal maintenance in the opwner's manual.
:)
Sorry if I sounded vague.

Thank you for clarification , but let me ask you ....... in your signature you list
Benjamin Trail NP XL1100 (home tuned by muwah with Tuna trigger)
Replacing the trigger would void the warrentee right ?
Do you wait a year after buying the gun to do tuning and internal work ?
Title: Re: BEFORE calling Crosman
Post by: ezman604 on February 05, 2015, 12:05:43 AM
Replacing any internal part will void your warranty. YOU have to decide to wait a year for the warranty to expire...or not. As for me, I opened it up almost immediately. I'm a tinkerer. And yep, voided my warranty and did not expect Crosman to honor any issue I uncovered in the process.
Title: Re: BEFORE calling Crosman

in my case I HAD to open her up because the main spring was broken in 3 pieces.

I remember reading a post where the owner called Crosman with a warranty issue. They asked if putting a CDT trigger in it voided the warranty. The Crosman rep said no, just put the old trigger back in before sending the airgun back because they might loose the CDT trigger. I wouldn't take this one instance as gospel, it's probably up to whoever you talk to at Crosman and if they were in a good mood. Changing the trigger would void the intent of the warranty.

yes , now you have pointed out the reality of their warranty ; I am glad they are somewhat flexible in their enforcement .
They can't very well open the floodgate and accept every modified gun that comes down the pike .
I have always been treated by their customer service as a valued and respected customer and I feel a sense of loyalty to them because of that .

thanks for all the input from everyone. Lots of good advice for ordering from Crosman. I am in the process of rebuilding my air valve for my 392, and have to order the parts.
Title: Re: BEFORE calling Crosman
Post by: Roadworthy on October 15, 2015, 11:40:15 AM
One big question seems to be whether the trigger IS internal.  Granted you must remove the stock to swap the trigger but that's not quite the same as putting the gun into a spring compressor and dismantling it.  The argument could be made that replacing the trigger is an EXTERNAL modification.  It is easily reversible putting the gun back to original.

I have also spoken to Crosman and received the same story - replacing the trigger in their break barrel rifles will not void the warranty.  Just reinstall the original trigger before returning the gun.  They tend to ship a new gun in the box and won't take the time to transfer your trigger.

Nice looking M-Rod.... And does any body know of a discount for crosman?

You can use 'AGNation' for 15%, but your better bet is to wait until any Tuesday for 20% off by applying "20OFFTuesday" and make your purchase on a Tuesday.  That's the best discount on Crosman gear that I've found.  There are a few items for which no coupon codes will work, such as the Bulldog.

Last time I used it was 25% off, and the banner over at AGN still shows 25%.  That was probably a typo...

I just emailed* a parts order to Crosman and found that the Disco hammer spring part number has changed. It was 2261-009, it is now  2261A009.

Also the piercing pin/disc used on several different Crosman models as well as in the Pro-Top valve conversion has changed. It was 38A027, it is now T4-041. This I had already read somewhere and it was confirmed by Crosman

*The change in part numbers did not delay the order- 'Sally' simply made note of it in the confirmation email sent to me ~ 10 minutes after I emailed the order. This order was for more than 30 different part numbers so it was impractical to sit on the phone and read out each one. So email works just fine for me but YMMV. Yep the first thing that I do when I plan on ordering parts from Crosman is to download the EVP manuals for the guns I need parts for, look up the part numbers write them down and it takes a lot less time for Crosman to do it instead of you having them do it.  Basic common sense.  I've found that an easy way to zero in on a specific EVP manual is to do a google search of it, the first hit more than likely will be Crosman's site too.
