880 locked up?
«

Can these 880's be pumped up to the valve lock point, ?
I was showing off my LDC, {geo's}
to some friends and I got a pellet turned half way around and didn't see it until
I couldn't close the bolt.
So I used a wooden rod to push it back out and then put in a fresh one and closed the bolt
pumped it a couple more times out of frustration and when I pulled the trigger
NOTHING, it feels stuck !
I checked the safety and it felt a bit harder to push back and forth but still
nothing when the trigger is pulled.
So if there is some thing I'm missing or somebody knows more than I do about these
(that wouldn't be hard)
I've never had one apart, they look so different than a normal pump up to me
That makes two out of four that stopped working now
and why I passed on one for $5 a couple weekends back at a PB gun show
(had three out of four working then)
I've got some repair kits from Daisy for the 880's when I needed 953 parts
just haven't worked on one yet, other than the fill in the BB loading
pellet tipping hole at the rear of the bolt slide area.
How I did that-
lube up the bolt, I used "Divers grease" and mix a little JB up,
then with a couple of small paper towel bits wipe up the mix, coating all sides of towels
then with bolt closed stuff them in using a small wood stick about half as big as a tooth pick
clean up any excess you might get outside of the fill spot
Make sure you cycle the bolt a few times after it starts to set up
THAT made a huge difference in the shooting enjoyment.
Thanks for any help/advice

Taking a 880 apart isn't that big a deal & I think in your case it's a necessity. I always take lots of photos when I tear down any gun for the first time.
Here's how your 880 comes apart;

I gave my uncle a 880 and he locked it up twice. The first time I took it apart. The second time I cocked and pulled the trigger hard and fast and repeated this quickly for about a dozen cycles. It let out a little at a time and finally let out the full charge.
I also wonder if you could put it in the freezer overnight? Colder air would have lower pressure.

They might sound like a lot of work till you realize you only need 3-4 pumps for plinking.

Makes me glad I rarely pump my guns to full power and certainly never get crazy about trying to get more power from my guns.
My 880 will not fully dump past 4 pumps because of something I inadvertently did but I'm leaving it because I generally use a max of 4 anyways.

bhh-
"pulled the trigger hard"
I tried that a few times and nothing.
Thanks
But just a little bit ago, I was playing with my Rebel
and after I put it up I grabbed the Stuck 880 off the wall
I just kind of pointed it down range and after I cycled the safety a few times
I was going to really pull on the trigger this time.
But, it didn't need a huge pull but more than normal,
and it when off.
I pumped it once and cocked it and it shot normal maybe.
I loaded a pellet and gave it 10 and again it shot normal.
maybe,
Hard to tell, the sound isn't there and it just sounds wrong.
That one got the LDC from Geo on it and is very very quiet.
Anyway all is good again and I didn't have to wreak another airgun
and have more on the waiting for repair list.
Thanks

You're welcome. Glad it worked.
By "hard and fast" I'm trying to get the trigger away from the hammer in a sudden movement.

If pumped up to much and the hammer spring is weak, it doesn't have the poop to open the valve.

I wonder if the dowel banged into the bolt and knocked the trigger linkage out of whack.
