Need help with someone familiar with Talons.
After much frustration and some 4 letter words I have the Talon back together.
I have an older model one of the first so i could not find much info on it as it seems the new model talons and condors are what the guides and videos cover. Mine had the old style saftey, pressed on barrel sleeves and no side screws for barrel etc.
Anyway started testing today and since its cold and windy I only did a few shots.
Top had turned out 2.5 turns and power wheel at 6 and jsb 18 grains.
Forgot my my pen and paper, so from memory and might be off a few fps. First 4 shots with my cheap amazon chrony were from 671-677 or there abouts.
Turned up the wheel to 8 and it was from like 677-682 . Cranked the wheel to 12 and beside being a loud hammer smack sound it didnt do much. 3 shots around 690.
So while consistency is pretty good it seems the power is not. Now I have read the condor guys pushing big numbers will lose some power with reg due to plenum size and such.
But 25fpe(what its supposed to do stock with 12 inch barrel in .22) isnt that high power for a pcp.
When putting in the reg I set to 150 bar as i wanted to hit 25fpe at least and keep stock power. Maybe i set it too high and the hammer isnt strong enough? I have stock springs and uograded talon ss plus breach from talon tunes.
The only other thing is that the male delrin screw that goes into the metal female power wheel was cracked and I got replacement from airforce(btw very nice and it seems you can pretty much order a new gun piece by piece if you wanted) but the screw was about 1-1.5 inches shorter than the stock one.
I am not sure if they sent me the wrong one, or if design changed or what. Not sure if that could cause the problem.
