hey scott how's it going? i'm not an expert as most of the fellas in here but i did revived a few of my daisy and from reading and learning i found out that the heads with the pocket are for the newer daisy, it will no doubt work but i believe it will give just a tiny bit less umph (how tiny i'm not sure but i'm sure in due time someone with a more extensive background will chime in) if you're into hunting i'm quite sure it may or may not make a difference, but if you're just into plinking as i am it's something doable to throw in a newer style head. now of course all you can just clean out the old head and washers and throw in the new seals and you're good to go as long as that head isn't worn down, so you've actually got 2 options and they're both at your disposal (no pun intended). hope i shed a bit of light for you. good luck on reviving your 822. take care scott have a great day and God bless.
I have a 22SG that I'm attempting to resurrect. I ordered a new pump head to replace the dried up original unit. Looking at the old one, it's a flat head piston, where the replacement has a pocket in it. Which of these 2 should I use for the best performance?
