Hw95 / 3-9x40 Airmax 9.02 lbs R9 / 3-9x40 Airmax 9.05 lbs
So, I really like the Lux version, and want to use open sights. So I thought how can we see the difference....Below overlays using the 1.lockup and trigger as line up reference points. Notice, that sights and top of dovetail differ, this is due to being shot a slightly different angles. So the white space above the dove tail is the "fudge" give or take (room for error margin). Hope this helps future prescriptive buyers until we can get some hard numbers by owners measuring the comb heights in relation to the top of the dovetail.

For what it’s worth I just shot a Beeman R9 .177 back to back with an HW35E .177 (just happened to do this and I remembered this thread). Subjectively, for me personally, the 35E is noticeably easier to cock. Now it’s not an HW30/R7 by any stretch but back to back the R9/HW95 was noticeably “more difficult” to cock. Now is it RADICALLY different? No, but it’s noticeable. NOTE- Neither are difficult to cock in any sense. I was just looking for the words to make the distinction. I’ve never really had any issues cocking any springer so I am just trying to make the distinction that I do absolutely feel a difference in the two and that both are certainly not in the R7 territory in any way. Keep in mind, however, like recoil even though the forces in play can be quantified, how we experience them can be wildly different from person to person so my observation is just my own subjective “FEEL”.
Here. I'll make it easier for you guys. Hw85/95 standard stock on the leftHw85/95 on the right. A picture is worth a thousand words.

A picture is worth a thousand words.I'm looking at the HW 85 to add to my HW 30S and I see the stock difference you've mentioned. I want a Williams peep site like I have on the 30S, but it looks like to go Luxus I go scope.
Well, don't think I want to reshape the stock. From the above stock photos it may be the Williams FP peep may work on the Luxus.
Here is a find worth sharing for a possible simple rear ghost ring that may work where Williams may not.My avatar has my old HW 77 with the Weihrauch rear aperture for 11mm rails and HW front globe site. It had no issue sighting in or being awkward. I imagine the stock height is similar to the plane jane HW 85 of mine. And no I never shot with my youngest hanging in my backpack carrier. I was setting up this rifle while “sittin” the little guy, he was so excited he was sleeping. My wife snapped my pic while I was looking through the peeps. My HW 85 just to be clear has the plain stock not the luxe. I have just eyeballed the slightly fancier stock.I ordered two originally with the second being in .22 cal. And it was sold with many others when I cleared out my .22 collection to simplify my life.My .177 won’t be sold anytime soon.https://www.krale.shop/us/weihrauch-hw85/Jason

I did a full review here.https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=190140.0I like them much better than the Williams as explained in the review. I sold all of my Williams since. The TechSights still don't work with the Luxus stock. The limiting factor isn't the rear sight or its elevation adjustment, it's the fixed height of the front sight. That fixed front sight height set's the sight line for all the rear sights. The comb is simply too high to align the sights comfortably. Whatever they are.
