Now that I have seen a full side view of the mounting system (Reply # 21) I am very unimpressed about the rigidity of it.... Is it possible to place a scope ring at the back, between the rubber eyecup and the "tower"?.... Even a 3D printed one, of the correct height to hold it parallel to the barrel, would be a huge improvement!.... The way it is, even a gentle knock will cause the POA to change, and a harder smack will likely break something.... Bob
James I took your advice from another thread and will try old school first. I ordered a light, green/red with remote switch. In the meantime I have achieved clarity. I will save and get a Wraith or some such at a later date. Likely buy a Prod and make it a dedicated Nacht Jagger.
One can spend more on the high end of illumination, and good light gathering illuminated recitals than these cheap NV, and entry level name brand 850 IR NV options. On the Name brand IR list there is AGM, ATN. A Couple hundred more you can get a factory refurb ATN Thor LT. https://www.ebay.com/itm/125032960692https://www.atncorp.com/x-sight-ltv-day-night-rifle-scope-3-9x I recommend Thermal as the best overall if I had to choose. If not a scope at lest a monocular for spotting then flip on the lights and shoot
Thermal is actually pretty clear as to objects in most environments, extreme heat is its achilleas, I find the shadows from IR illuminator to be annoying at times.

I've used high end Thermal equipment in the military, but not as a rifle scope.

The flashlight setup arrived today. I think it will work nicely. Bunnies are not fast learners. I also bought a Prod today that will likely become my night hunter. I do intend on getting something like a Wraith, but I have a while to wait before I can spend more.
Has anyone tried a PARD?Hunter
