Crosman barrel came in over the weekend. I had to do a lot of grinding and filing to fit it to the valve body. The FX barrel would have been MUCH easier. I'll send pictures this evening. Also, because of the outer diameter of the barrel, I had to cut off the barrel part of the barrel shroud. Maybe you guys will have some better ideas once you see it. I put it together and put a few shots through it. I didn't shoot my eye out. I then disassembled again. Did some more filing and because I could not use the barrel shroud to secure the barrel to the pump frame, I used construction adhesive (shoulder shrug). Seems solid after wiggling it this morning....the barrel that is. Hehehe!!! I've done so much with so little for so long, I can do almost anything.
While test firing mine I was getting a lot of air back in my face. Opened it up and realized the bolt probe was fine. I wrecked the VB when drilling the breach out. I did not use my bench vice. I foolishly held it in my hand and paid the price. Just ordered a new VB from daisy.Sigh...
Ok. The 1925 pushing 20 grain HN FTT's is pellet on pellet at 25 feet. Hatsan Vortex Strikes 24.7 grains at the same distance are all over the place. I'm going to try some heavier HNs. The rifle had enough juice to push the 25 grains so I'm hoping a better pellet will give me better accuracy. We are thawing out in Texas so I should be able to get outside and see how the rifle performs at greater distances. I still need an LDC on this thing. I had to go to the dark side (Crosman Gate) to get the thread pitch for my barrel. I may me able to find some sort of adapter from Home Depot.... we'll see...
Do you think the choke in the FX liner will slow it down? I am working on a conversion project also. The FX superior liner is the first proper sized bore with a choke I’ve had. Appears like it should be accurate.
I don't think so. I'm pretty sure the factory barrels are all choked also, but I haven't checked. What's your project?
.140 on the TP? Mine is at .125. Am I undersized?
