Looking for shooting buddies and shooting events in the south eastern New York state. My name is Brent, I had about 700 acres of woods behind my house just until this spring , so having a place to shoot wasn't a problem, but then Toll brothers bought the land, cut down almost every tree and built town houses and made us physicly I'll. So if you live within 100 miles of Hopewell junction, NY 12533 pm me , and I'll pm you my address and number, Brent

Sorry to resurrect an older thread but wanted to chime in and say hello from Pleasant Valley. I also have a friend with some property off the taconic pkwy in Hopewell Jct. Pm me if anyone wants to go plinking or shoot targets.

Is there anyone in levittown/bellmore/wantagh area who can suggest a place to plink? I have a Storm XT and would like to mount the scope or just use the open sights, but 15 bucks an hour to go top mitchel field is insane.
If you have a place and do it during the week and need shooting partner please do drop me a line

just put it somewhere near your location, and be sure to use your GTA SCREEN NAME
when you find someone on the map in your area, then come back here to the forum, do a "Members Search" for that person, and send them a PM.

Brookhaven Shooting Range has a shooting line dedicated to the AG crowd and has targets out to 100 yards for $10 to shoot all day bring a cooler and soft drinks /lunch

Im in Orange County NY. From Rockland Area too..
Know all about Terrytown.
No land so we cant shoot here.. but I am down to meet up and plink. I have a set of Spinners (3 on one rack) And Targets.
We can plink anything though. I have ALOT and I mean ALOT of pellets to waste so thats not an issue and plenty of co2 hand guns if thats your thing. a few 1377s and 7 or 9 rifles..

Brookhaven Shooting Range has a shooting line dedicated to the AG crowd and has targets out to 100 yards for $10 to shoot all day bring a cooler and soft drinks /lunch
Headed to Brookhaven range tomorrow, Sunday, if anyone wants to make the trek out east. Great place to shoot.

We were helping out a family member who needed severe intervention/encouragement to have a rather invasive operation, we were out of ny, so I never saw this post. I am interested if you are headed oiut and I found a shooting group that meets there.

They seem very friendly or at least the gent I spoke with on the phone did. They also shoot at Smithtown. I have a few toys not tuned, or too fabulous, but for me at the moment they are fine. One day tuning and retriggering will be done. "Crosman Creep" is just horrid.
If you are near Wantagh perhaps we can get together one day and plot out a day or two for shooting. The range is a long ride, but it is what it is.
EBB's sometimes confuse me and I do not always see updates or forget where to look. This is user error, not a design flaw. Drop me a line if you wish to chat on line or meet up at a diner for a cup'o'caffeine.

PS oh the surgery went well, took a chunk out of the inside of his ventricle, the size of 2 chicken McNuggets. He actually eventually called to thank my wife for encouragement and arm twisting.

well you are closer then where one of my kids goes to school, and every time I go there I try to get in "lead time" with a high school bud who lives there! If I can figure a way to roll it in with my trip to Syracuse as well as others who have posted here, it might be doable. I can always go camp at Harriman over night. Give me an excuse to camp. Thanks fer the offer. I will be going out east from me to shoot at a range. The one that is near me and good enough to get some trigger time, is just tooo expensive. 500+ bucks first year, after that it is not cheap, but available. Out east it is cheap enough , plus gas. but to you is expensive, hence tying it to a trip to see the kid. Still it would be fun to come up your way!!
I will see how the summer progresses.

Hey Brent, Hopewell junction is only 61 miles from me in Oceanside, NY. I travel 55 miles to Brookhaven range. I would love to meet up some time for some shooting. I know I'm late to this thread but it tough in Long Island to find a place to shoot.
I have been thinking about traveling to the Catskills Vernooy wild Forest or Big Indian wild Forest to find a nice quiet place with 125yards or more to shoot and do my Airgun reviews.but the laws regarding target shooting on state land is confusing. I've spent hours on Google maps trying to find an open area secluded enough to shoot. If anyone has any information regarding upstate NY and shooting Airguns or knows of a place I would be grateful for any information.

Unfortunately we lost our airgun brother Brent on 3 Feb 2016. I'm sure there are others here that would be glad to gather to shoot and enjoy sharing airgun experiences....and tall tales of those impossible shots.

I知 looking into some land out east by me for some long distance shooting, not sure what will come of it though, gotta convince the land owner first. Otherwise, I値l see you at BH range!

Hey Joe that great! I'll do some research and call some DEC rangers in the Sun Down wild Forest. I have a few spots that look promising but I'll let you know. I think it would be great if we could gather a few people and travel upstate for a day of shooting.
