I have a nice early 1200 that I've not put a cartridge into yet. Too many irons in the fire I guess.
Either my 499 with a Red Ryder spring in it (450 fps and very accurate)I'm fixing to put one of the high performance springs into the 499. It ought to be good for somewhere around 500 fps.

I did not think any came close to the Hahn performance. How does an RR spring in a 499 increase fps from less than an RR to much more than an RR?

Daisy Red Ryder fiber optic front sight, metal cocking lever, great for 35 ft. plinking. I run a little Pelgunoil in the piston and it seems to give it a little more FPS. I hear you on low cost shooting. It would be nice to find say a 400 fps spring bb gun.

The spring gives about 420 fps in an otherwise bone stock 1938B Red Ryder providing the seals are good. Sold almost 50 of them and everyone who has tried one has liked them.
Daisy came out with a series of "adult" BB Red Ryders you can look at.
