I definitely don't like matches being decided by pulled targets. Yes I was especially disappointment at that 2017 pistol match when the outcome was decided by a pulled target. I don't know Mike personally, but sure he is definitely a great shooter. Sans the pulled target, the winner would have been decided by a shootoff.
At the Michigan match, the luck favored me as I probably was put on the podium because of the pulled targets. You don't recall the multiple pulled targets at that match?
...His only misses were two, in the standing lane...
At the Michigan Rifle Match, I received 2 points on Saturday, due to a defective target (Lane 15)....for two days, that's two targets and four points for me, total....
...Since you shot 12fpe class, perhaps the targets were more sensitive, although it shouldn't matter. with correctly prepped targets.
When I talked to Mike after the match, he had a 49/52 on his scorecard, same as mine. Scores were not posted until the next day. His posted score was a 50/52. So there was obviously some adjustments to final scores.
....So you do recall some problems with the AAFTA targets since Ennice. 4 points for you, 11 points for me. Adjustments like that will affect the final standings.
...Targets will fail, and Match Directors will try to do the right thing, which is all that can be asked. It will please some, and not please others. It's usually not possible to please everyone.
