Sam Yang Saver 303 .22

(1/1)

SADave:
Not much info on this gun so I thought I'd post some pics. Resealed it today and will take to the range this weekend and post results. Was fairly easy to reseal if your are familiar with Korean guns.  It feels like a real shotgun and the blueing is excellent. Trigger is ok and predictable. It's not the normal unit like on Careers.or Sumatra where you can slide it out. Probably a biproduct of the different cocking set up. It does have an adjustment screw but I haven't adjusted yet. Also has the adjustable pellet stop like a Career so I hope it will like heavier pellets. I recall reading the Savers didn't always have them, so that is a plus.

Issues I had:
The lower cylinder where the endcap is next to the pump arm, I couldn't figure out how to get the cap apart to replace the oring. Leak test showed real slow bubbles so may take off and use thread tape to seal.

Lower cylinder also wasn't welded level with the main cylinder so had to wedge it to get cap on and off. Used a locking pliers and leather and a hair dryer to get it turning. Even still it dug into the finish on the upper cylinder.

On the back of the valve poppet the return spring guide broke off, I had a spare AR6 valve but it had a slightly smaller diameter and the stem diameter was smaller. I assembled the valve and return spring still worked. Fired a few test shots, woke the dead, and it seemed fine.

Oring sizes should anyone come across them and needs the orings.

Valve body X2 15mm OD x3mm CS
Fill port body 1x 17mm OD x 3mm CS (ower endcap is probably the same.)
Transfer port 1x 9.5mmOD x 2mmCS  (009)

Check valve was the standard Korean one that pyramidair sells. Mine was in good shape. Fill port seal was also the normal Korean flat seal but I've used an oring from harbour freight kit before.

Thank you for posting
Always been a fan of the Korean airguns.
Look forward to reading more about your experiences with this rifle

This is awesome. I don't think I've ever seen one of these disassembled. I own one myself.
