Career II 707 vs Sumatra 2500 (carbines)

Hello

I have been wanting a sumatra (lever action style) korean gun for a while, like...since 2013~  I took a long hiatus from the hobby and after coming back just a few months ago I want to go ahead and finally get the gun I've always been eyeing up.

I see now they only sell the Eagle claw, which does look nice in carbine form (i only am talking carbines here, not into a full length rifle atm) but i hear the magazines aren't good and the gun just isn't the same (especially power wise) as the older sumatra and careers

So I've found a nice version of a Career II 707 Carbine in .22 with the silver receiver for $725 (i prefer this over the black) in GREAT condition, and I've found a Sumatra 2500 Carbine in .25 for $500-600~ I have been looking on the classifieds and ebay for months now and these are the only carbine options I've come across.

My friend got a very very nice full length Sumatra with some extras tuned by Will for $600 but I have had many offers to buy these, the carbines just seem to not exist on the market, at least for me.

So what do you guys think about the 2 guns compared? I would LIKE to shoot slugs and I know the Sumatra mag has to be modified to do so, so I was thinking the Career has the plus in that section due to the stick mags allowing basically any size slug to fit (as long as the pellet trap does as well)

What are the pros and cons of each? And is the Career II 707 really that much rarer that it's worth an extra couple hundred bucks? It is like new in box condition, while the Sumatra seems to be a bit more used.

I used to own a Career Ultra 9mm that was previously owned by Lou Ferrigno and I had a signature with it as well (there is an airgun magazine with him and the gun on the cover) and I stupidly sold it back in 2014~ which I regret...so any input on these smaller caliber lever guns will be much appreciated

I had a .25 Sumatra carbine. Of the couple hundred guns I've sold that is the only one I regret selling. The guy I sold it to was from down under and I sent the gun to Will before it was sent to him. I assume it was one of the last guns Will did before he passed.  R.I.P. Will Piatt.

Yeah that news really sucked.  :'(
I was already 100% set on who to send my gun to when I first came back to airguns as his is one of the few names that stuck around in my mind after all those years.

Have you ever shot a Career II? I'm starting to think there aren't THAT many differences as far as shooting goes, just mostly the rarity and magazines.

Nope, the Sumatra was the only gun of that class that I ever shot.

I love my W.P. (R.I.P.) .25 Sumatra carbine. Other than my Sheridan & Benjamin pumpers, it would be the last air rifle I part with. I love the fact that you can adjust the power on the fly & it shoots a whole litany of pellets & slugs with great accuracy.
