This topic inspired me to finally address the unacceptable trigger on a H9A  I have had for about 15 years. 
Went the distance and disassembled the pistol and polished the parts. Also freed up one leg of the sear  spring.
The trigger is smoother and much better now.  Still a  little creep, but totally manageable.

As said, oil it and shoot it, a lot. What do you own that is more special to look at than to use?  The special part is the memories you and your nephews will have years from now. Nobody will enjoy it sitting in a box, unused. With decent care it will probably outlast you, to be handed down to the next generation to learn to shoot on and enjoy, just like my Grandpa's Crosman 140.
Let's face it, none of these guns are our retirement, might as well have fun with them now  ;D
