If you make it Chuck don't forget the 155. Also, we'll be shootin' paint balls so bring the B3. I'm bringing the Bam B4 and the Peak/XS B4-2 (the ancient one). Got to put a mil dot scope on the old one, got one on the Bam. Lookout paint balls.

Besides everything else usually I bring I'll be bringing the .177 Hatsan Torpedo 100x and and the little .177 TF M8 to sale if anyone wants one. Don't have a price in mind yet. But it'll be affordable with or without scopes.

The devil made me do it. I just got a refurbed Striker 1000 Vortex in .25 and got a  Webley ValueMax springer in .20 coming. Decided I had to have at least one .25 and .20. It's an addiction. Somebody stop me before I gotta' wear glasses. Later you all's, Tim.

Tim a good springer can hang with the PCP crowd shot for shot out to 50 yards easy the limiting factor is past 60 yards the springers can't push the heavy pellets hard enough to carry well past the 50 to 60 yard mark. I shoot both with excellent accuracy within their limitations. The real key is consistency and practice  ;) ;D

I don't know about that 60 yard limit, I used my Hatsan 125 vortex to wack a 4" spinner @ 100 yards with 26 grain lead 6 mil dot holdover at the September fun shoot.

;D Not a true limit just what I do. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot my .20 RX2, .177 D460 or .22 TX200 MK III past 60 yards so I don't know how well I can shoot them at that distance. For me 1/2" to 3/4" groups at 50 yards are my personal requirement with anything that I will use for pests or hunting. It is just much easier with the PCP rifles I own. My .25 Marauder Gen II and Daystate Huntsman XL are both consistent 100 yard shooters and even the AA S510 .177 at full power and JSB Momster Diabolo's 13.43 gr will do well at 100 yards on a good day with a light breeze and not too much coffee

I would like to get consistant groups where I want them at 100yds. But you got to be in the zone, practice and yes, little or no coffee or nicotine. The zone is hard to do with lots of guys around you want to b.s. with about air guns and 100yds to shoot over is hard to find for practice.

First I tried the .177 Hatsans 135 and 155. Close but no cigar. I got to go back to them later though with what I've learned, or maybe the Mach 12.5. But it kicks like a mule. Broke it's scope last month at Big AL's.

With my .177 470th I zeroed at 50yds so I was in the bull using two mil dots of hold under then shot at 100yds with two mil dots of hold over. 5 or 7 shots and a couple more click of adjustment. I got the last 3 round group in the lower left quarter of a 3" x 2 1/2" bull on a big splatter target. Two were almost touching and the third was a half inch away. But somedays the magic ain't 'der. I'm thinking some light strips of fabric on sticks at 50, 75 and 100yds.

What I really need it a 54 Air KIng or a 56th. Juggle some bills or sale some guns.

Later you all's, Tim.

the difference after 60 yards is POWER and ease of operation.....

a BT65 at 950fps and a 150 at 760 fps, both with the same tin of JSB 25 ammo.......BT pre charged 9 shot bolt action repeater, 150 50+ pound cocking force under lever single shot

at 50 yards the 150 takes precision to match what the BT does with it's eyes closed.....at 100 yards with precision the BT will hit a 2" target until you run out of air, the 150 will try to run you out of "arm" while you figure out the ballistic arcing....

Don't know how I missed this post. Was out painting targets today. I have plenty of paint balls. What kind of challenge do you guys have in mind. This I think could get interesting.  We lost Joe this year. He was one of the original 5 that started our Jersey shoot.

Al mentioned springers at 25 and pcp's at 50. I have to practice for a HFT comp the following weekend so that should work out nicely.

UP-DATE INFORMATION ABOUT ALS' LOWCOUNTRY FUN-SHOOT EVENT

Here is a list of details that may help you better understand how best to prepare, what to expect, what to bring and how to get to the Als' LowCountry Fun-Shoot Event:

I would like to start by telling anyone considering attending this Fun-Shoot Event, that Big Al has certainly been Blessed with obtaining what really is a true "Slice of Heaven", in every aspect! It is absolutely perfect in it lay-out, provides plenty of room and is perfect in every way for having a productive, educational and fun filled Fun-shoot Event, that allows one to shoot up to 100-yards from the firing line! You will certainly be able to put your airgun collection through their paces!

We are extremely safety oriented, in an effort to ensure a very safe and great time for all...SAFETY FIRST!

There will be several airguns for you to check out and in most cases...have the oppurtunity to shoot! :D

When: November/07/2015

Time: 9:00am

Where: Please send Big Al/OleTomCat a PM for GPS details or directions

What you should consider taking with you:

*Folding chairs, portable canopy/open tent of some sort for protection from the sun, protective eye wear, folding table, plenty of pellets/ammo, lots of air if PCP shooting, bug spray, shooting rest, drinks, snacks and targets
(Although we will be providing hot dogs to be cooked over an open fire, you may still want to take along some snacks or anything else that you may want to eat or share.)

*If you have a chrony and would like to know exactly how well your airgun/s are performing, this Fun-Shoot Event is a great opportunity to do so. If you do not have one, there's always someone that does have one and I am sure would be willing to help you out with theirs-

*There's no electrical hook-ups at the "Slice of Heaven", so please keep that in mind...nor is there any running water, which is something else to consider-

*Although there is no out house, there's plenty of privacy in the surrounding woods (might want to take along some TP), and a short drive will take you to a more accommodating restroom-

*I have been reading talks of Marksmanship competitions, so be sure to bring your "A Game"-

*As far as sleeping arrangements for those that may want to arrive the night before, there are a few reasonably priced hotels in the area. Here's a list of some: Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn in the Santee area...close by-

*Be ready to make new friends and learn even more about our awesome sport! In past events, many new friendships have been developed and I am sure that many more will continue to materialize.

Really look forward to seeing our regulars and meeting/greeting new attendees!

If any questions or concerns, please post them here or send Big Al a PM.

Happy shooting,

Lil Al
(AGW)
