Nice, sorry i couldn't make it...  how well did the exploding water bottle things work??  and keep me posted for the next one!!  early November would be cool literally!!

Unfortunately, did not get to try out the BIG-BLAST EXPLODING TARGET KIT/S this time out, but will asap!

I can tell you that the design is very cool, affordable and will be easy to set-up for some fun! No complicated parts to it!

I will be making a video of it in action very soon. :D

Hope to see you October 4th and 5th!

Cheers,

Al.

ALS' LOW COUNTRY FUN-SHOOT EVENT!
« Reply #64 on: August 10, 2014, 04:02:56 AM »
ALS' LOW COUNTRY FUN-SHOOT EVENT!

WHEN: The first weekend in October/Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th 2014!

TIME: Will probably meet up at a major land-mark or Exit right off the Interstate at 8:30 a.m. both days. I am sure that as the Event gets closer, we'll know exactly where and what time.

PLACE: Al's (OleTomCat's) patch of Heaven around Summerville/closer to Lake Marion, S.C.!
(please send OleTomCat a pm for a map or directions)

WHERE TO STAY: There are a few reasonably priced Hotels around the area to choose from and I'm sure that as this thread grows, more information on that will be provided.

THE RANGE: There's plenty of room for short, medium and long-range shooting! Long-range can easily exceed 100+ yards!
(Please note: The maximum long-range distance has yet to be determined by Al (OleTomCat), but I am sure it'll all get figured out well in advance so we'll all know what to plan for)

If you have a look at the pictures posted from our first get together, you can see for yourself just how perfect Al's patch of Heaven is for having a Fun-Shoot Event! As we are expecting a bigger turn up of Air-Gunners this time, maybe we can have some fun and challenging shooting matches! ;D

You may want to bring the following:
(Please keep in mind that there is no running water or electricity)

Chair/s-

Folding Table/s-

Bug-spray-

Canopy-

Bottled Water-

Snacks-

Safety Glasses/Eye Protection-

Your arsenal of airguns-

A good supply of whatever it is that powers your airguns and plenty of ammo-

At the last get together, Al (OTM) made a fire and provided some hot-dogs for us to grill over that open fire, and boy were they good! :D

I will be supplying a large number of targets in various shapes, forms, materials and sizes, as too will Al (OleTomCat), but if you have any you would like to bring with you as well for everyone to enjoy, by all means...please do! :D

Should be some chronys available too, which would make it a great time and place to find out exactly how your airgun/s are performing with various types of airgun ammo, at various distances.
(Especially great for those without a chrony and a means to shoot beyond 25-yards, etc.)

That's about all I can think of to tell for now.

Plenty of advanced notice this time, so we really hope to see yall there! ;D

For more details and information, send us a pm and keep an eye on this thread!

Happy/Safe Shooting, :D

Al & Al.

If people are interested in Primitive camping or bringing campers we will clear a small area for that behind the firing line, there are full facilities(bathroom and showers) about 1.5 miles away at Spires Landing on the lake...

Just an example of some of numerous reactive targets that will be set-up at various distances on the range for the Fun-Shoot Event!

These are rubber/synthetic wine bottle corks and when they are smacked by some air-gun ammo just right, they go zinging around like crazy! :o

What is also cool about these; is that you can shoot them several times before they are no good to shoot anymore...kinda like "self-sealing".

I'll be making at least 150-250 of these for all to enjoy! ;D

Happy/Safe Shooting, :D

Al,

Dad sent me a care package of Hi-Vis targets today, wait till you see them....

Al

Thanks Al!

I'm working on a bunch targets, stands included!

Look forward to seeing them targets your Pappy sent to you! :D

Tim and I plan on coming up on Friday the 3rd so that we can put those custom spoon spinner targets together.

This time we'll be able to use Charles' BIG-BLAST EXPLOSIVE TARGETS that use plastic soda/water bottles! One of the great things about his version of this type of reactive target...you can have multiple targets set-up at the same time and it's affordable!
(yes, that was a plug for Charles. He deserves it and I will show everyone why after the Fun-Shoot!:)

It's going to be a great time with a ginormous amount of targets to shoot!

I have also been trying to get a lot more of my ammo cast and swaged for testing and for anyone that wants to, sling down-range...this time, the lead is a little bit harder!

Thanks again,

Al.

p.s. Tim (lefteyeshot) recently purchased another Hatsan break-barrel...the 135 w/wood stock in .177, will be fun trying that out!

Here's the beginnings of a spoon spinner target that I am making for the Fun-Shoot Event and then giving to Tim (lefteyeshot) afterwards. It will have tablespoons and teaspoons on as spinners, about 10 across and then there will be the rubber/synthetic reactive corks across the bottom to be knocked-down! I'll post a picture after it is completed. :D

There will also be the ones that Al and I are making from some steel frames that he is welding together for us to place at short, mid and long range.

Thanks,

AGW.
