We are all different, but to me, one of the coolest things about the sidelever Dianas is the very mellow cocking effort for the 21 fpe they produce. Efficient machines! In all honesty, I think the present Pro stock is better than the original, blockier model. Best of both worlds would take a T01 gun inserted into a Pro stock (but not laminate!). It's only a question of money, if you have it.
I hadn't been seriously shopping for a 54 - or perhaps I had. Anyhow, I started bidding on a T05 in .177 in Gun Broker. It went for $480. My wife said I should just buy new so I'd have the warranty. The best price at this point was on Airguns of Arizona and they had them in .177 with a beech stock for $559.99 so I jumped. Even paying for shipping they were cheaper than Pyramyd. Now the wait begins. . . .

Good for you, Thomas! The D54 is on my short list, but I'm waiting for a fine T01 specimen, which may or may not materialize.
Dave,So you haven't read my posts in recent months. The T06 trigger (I have two guns with it) has been a real let down for me. (And no-one ever has had good things to say about the T05, relatively). When I got my first T01 guns earlier this year, I finally got me a Diana trigger that fit me perfectly. I'll quote myself:The T01 trigger in the D52 is a delight (as it is on my D34). It fits my shooting style much better than the present-day T06’s in my 350 Mag and Mod.48.For me, there needs to be a short, light first stage that soon stops at a solid second-stage wall. The gun must go off immediately and cleanly after pushing through the wall. After stabilizing the open sight picture, the shot sequence must be over within two seconds or so. The T01 does just that. For all its adjustability (and boy, have I adjusted them), the T06 seems incapable of such a pull, with its overly springy first stage, barely distinct second stage wall and a creepy break at the very end of a looooong travel, way back in the trigger guard (even installing a first-stage reducing screw the location of the end of pull doesn't change). I can't feel at home, or reach really good shooting rhythm / accuracy with such a pull. I'm not alone in this. Tom Gaylord and many British veterans also think the T01 is the best trigger of the bunch. I only shoot offhand, 90 % of the time standing, and I shoot fast. I reckon bench shooters and various rest users may feel differently about the different triggers. So, I'm only interested in T01 guns, and have no plans to buy a Diana with a newer trigger again.
