Three of them had compression tube scores after 20 test shots from swarf. One had a bent barrel and a tapered bore. One had a bead of slag in the front corner of the compression tube that chewed up the seal. One had a bead of slag between the stock hanger bracket that chewed up the plastic cocking arm insert badly. Older versions had damaged piston seals which isn't a big deal or new. What is new and bothers me is all of them had full length visible tubing seams in the compression tube. These QC issues makes me nervous about ordering a new rifle. Given the above (and scores from others) it's tremendous that people still swoon over Weihrauch's and keep buying them left and right. I was extremely let down by my 2019 Weihrauch purchase, and am not seriously looking at any HW that's not at least 10, preferably 30 years old. I have purchased at least 16 Weihrauch airguns from AoA/Krale/Mundalar and never experience anything other than barrel droop - fixed by barrel bending .As I mentioned before and so has Ed, the two older R1 and R10 I've worked on were of poorer quality that all the new ones I've tuned. The issues namely revolved around pistons being out of round, compression chambers being out of round, spring guides, piston seals and cocking shoe deficiencies.IMO, the newer ones are of better quality .......Duke, you and Ron seemed to be cursed .

It's not my luck. They weren't my guns. They were the last four new guns I worked on since August or September of this year. Two Hw50s from PA and a Hw35 and 98 from Krale. I have lots of pictures to verify the defects. It is what it is.Oh I forgot to say the one usable Hw50 had severe barrel droop as well.

I'm very tempted to order a 22 SLK but I finally got my 22 caliber R1 working very nicely. It's hard to justify buying a similar gun in the same caliber.Things I could do with the R1 and still justify buying a 22 SLK.1) install the long 20 caliber barrel I have for it. Then it would be a classic R1 in a classic caliber. 2) install the OE 177 barrel and sell it for close to the cost of a new SLK.3) put a tech sight (peep sight) on it and use it for a power plinker and close range pester.Hmmmm. And I said I was done buying airguns since I bought all that property in AR. But I really want a 22 SLK!On another note the last four new Weihrauchs I got to tune had major quality issues. Does your SLK have any of these problems?
Thanks for the information. I'm your gun is going to work out beautiful when you get done with it.

Nice job. Good looking gun. Your homemade muzzle handles always look great.
