Hi WobbyHands I’m pretty much a newbie at this printing thing also. What kind of printer?
Prusa MK3S+ kit. Stupid expensive in my opinion, but wanted it to just work. Pain in the butte to assemble. Seemed like they made it harder to assemble than it needed to be. Just finished assembling it yesterday. Seems to be working though - despite my efforts
Your Z offset is way off, nozzle needs to be closer to print bed.Do a quick search on YouTube, plenty of good setup content available, specific to your printer and general.Few if any printers are plug and play, they all take some setting up and fiddling. But, it is a very useful hobby, especially if you start doing your own 3D design.
Try one of the bed level test files. Usually postage stamps in the corners and middle. Printing with PLA to start can help as well.https://www.printables.com/search/all?q=bed%20level%20test
