The tornado that hit Taylorville, Il Saturday passed about a mile south of the town I live in before it reached Taylorville. As it hit T-ville, it passed about 2 miles east of my property where my machine shed and range where Mobilemail, Gipper, AJ and a few other members have came to shoot. Unfortunately, the residents of T-ville weren't so lucky as the EF 3 pretty much went right through the middle of town, a lot of damaged homes. 23 tornadoes hit central IL on Saturday, but so far I have not heard of any fatalities and a low number of injuries.
I wish everyone a speedy recovery.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to the folks in Taylorville.
Glad you came out unscathed Shawn. 👍🏼

Thanks Dave. We got lucky, my neighbors daughter lives just outside of town and her house got hit.

If you didn't have anything to be thankful for on Thanksgiving, you do now!!!!!

Amen Brother!

Scary stuff. Glad you came out ok Shawn and no fatalities were reported.

Glad to hear that you weren't in the path. We are about 45 miles east of you. We were listening to the weathercasters as the tornado moved.
Many years ago my parents lost a barn to one of those. Had it hit 90 seconds earlier, I'd lost a brother.
Scary stuff, glad you're safe.

I’ve checked on one of my old hunting buddies from around that area, it missed him too. I’m glad there has been no fatalities, and hope everyone has a speedy recovery.

I am glad & happy for the folks that this Tornado missed and my prayers go out to the folks that got hit. Tornadoes are no joke. We get them around my place in the late spring and summer but not this time of year. As of November it has been full on winter here in Minnesota and we are in the Blizzard season now.
My Best Wishes to All - Tom

They say it was 1/2 mile wide. That covers a lot a ground.
No deaths but a lot of destroyed and damaged homes.
Lots to be thankful for but really tough to face this during the holidays.

Yep watched that supercell off the dexk as it went by, we are about 30 minutes east of Tville. Clear skies and stars were above us, and the super cell would light up, and it was a tall one, we could feel the rumbles here. Crazy weather indeed.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. For all the folks that took the hit, now it decided to turn cold again. I really feel for them.
The big reason for no deaths was the city officials sounded the tornado sirens 40 minutes prior to it's arrival, good call on their part, probably saved some lives.

Wow Shawn! I didn't hear about this until just now reading your post! Glad you are okay, and wishing the best for those who were not as fortunate.
-
Thank you Lizzie. Yeah we got lucky, a lot of others didn't.

Yep, crazy weather indeed. One weekend blizzard conditions, the next 65 degrees and tornadoes, then back to winter!
