Hello, GTA members! Jason (Springerfan) here, and I have a question for those who are familiar with working on/refinishing wood stocks. (Hopefully this is the correct gate to post this in considering the rifle is a PCP...if the moderators need to move it, please feel free! Sorry) I recently acquired a nice AA S400 XTRA FAC from another member, and I have a fairly decent scratch just under the cheek rest. As far as my tired eyes can tell, and from what I can feel, it looks like it is only in the clear-coat and does not go down into the wood. If I can just fix that spot and not have to refinish the whole stock, that would be awesome!! I tried to post a couple of pictures, but it says file size too large. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!

I have used the clear touch up sticks that you get from your car dealership. They usually come in a kit with a specific color and a clear top coat. Toss the color tube and use the clear to layer in light coats with a tooth pick or 00 artist brush. Once the scratch is filled and the clear has curred for a day, lightly sand the area with 2000 or 2500 grit sand paper, in a circular motion. Then buff out the sanding scratches with automotive rubbing compound, then polish.
Good Luck
