Lubrication - If a little is good . . . . .

Generally if a little lubrication is good, less is better. I was going to post this on the UK gate as I've been working on my TX 200 but the principle applies to all makes and models. I'm the third owner of the gun but not the first to work on it apparently. The trigger was a little crunchy so I disassembled it. It appears the first owner had the same issue due to to the quantity of moly lube found inside the trigger housing. It was also gooped around safety and spring. I won't go into the minutiae of a trigger tune but I will say if your trigger or other mechanism is rough throwing quantities of moly lube at it is not the cure. That stuff (in small quantities) is good for two rubbing surfaces which are relatively smooth. If the surfaces are rough the moly won't magically make them smooth. You need to do that the old fashioned way - sandpaper, file, whetstone, whatever. Oh, upon reassembly the trigger is smooth and nice. I did learn a couple other things along the way but they ARE TX 200 specific. This is just a general caution to solve your problems then use a tiny bit of lube. The actual rubbing areas are generally small and require very little lube.

Thomas, a very good insight..thank you! Has been put in the memory bank (albeit a smal bank).

The Gauntlet trigger assembly is packed full from the factory from what I gather, so yours may well be the same.
